As iron sharpens iron, sparks fly

Introduction: Today we are going to talk about something the devil hates. He will make every effort to distract you today. He will pull out all the stops as he whispers thougths in your mind like, “I hope so and so hear this message.”
Don’t listen to the liar this morning. Listen for the voice of the shepherd who calls you by your name. Discern his voice as he calls out for you to...
Matthew 11:29 ESV
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Listen to the one who speaks truth this something. Thy Word is truth.
I love this passage of Scriputre because it is so honest to our real life situations. this passage assumes adversity in our relating to one another, but it still holds us up to a standard that we must walk according too.
No one said following in the footsteps of the man of sorrows would be easy.
This passage is honest.
Illustration: I have a distict memory of my dad sharpening either an ax or a shovel as a kid.
He took a tool and presseed it into a spinning thigsn and sparks were flying…but they were flying wihta purpose. that is what God is doing in our relatioships with one another in the church and in our families.
I have

In order to maintain the unity, we must be marked with humility.

3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—
Ephesians 4:5–6 ESV
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Last week we had an interesting take on the church greeting time right? I asked you to look at the people next to you and say, “sometimes you drive me crazy.” This was done in a light hearted manner…and we wanted to make light of it, but this week I want to take a more biblical approach to this idea. A better way of saying nearly the same thing is to personalize it more…
instead of sometimes you drive me crazy...
I know that I drive you crazy.
Sometimes I do things that drive you crazy and I am sorry.
