Laodicea - a lot of the issues as the other c hurches
near by - hot springs - cool waters
Unique - pipe thier water in -
So their water was neither hot or cold - it was always in the middle
Also, because they piped it in it was unsanitary and cause sickness
In that context Jesus says
I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot.
Jesus literally says be one or the other - no middle gorund, no grey area
This is the only time lukewarmness is mentioned and the result is
So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth.
That is pretty straight forward
As a church and people we are either hot - obedient or cold - disobedient
Anyone who is not with me is against me, and anyone who does not gather with me scatters.
We only have these two options
Everyone orders either hot coffee or iced
I challenge everyone to take your temperature and your famiy’s and see has any grey areas slipped in.
