Time

When we consider the people of God (Hebrews) we need to consider the idea that God had been silent. We must also look at the reason that Moses had not been available. Consider that Moses continually was speaking to God but God often times was not giving Moses the answers he was looking for. For instance, Moses was born into a time when his very life was in danger.
What is it that you fear concerning your walk with God? Perhaps control, or loss of control? Moses’ mother hid him from the authorities until she could hide him no more. Have you lived a life unable to be confident in your Christian walk because it did not meet the established status quo?
Look at what God does when the mother finally gives in and trusts, or was it that she feared for her own life? When she could hide him no longer she got a papyrus basket for him, and plastered it with bitumen and pitch; she put the child in it and placed it among the reeds on the bank of the river.
The Holy Bible: New Revised Standard Version. (1989). (Ex 2:3). Nashville: Thomas Nelson Publishers.
In our Christian lives we can often live a secluded Christian walk because it is safer to do so; to not make waves or cause ourselves any issues. When I read this passage I feel as though the mother remains distant because of fear; fear that her beautiful son will be taken and killed, or even that she and her family might suffer for the issue of hiding the boy.
Did you ever wonder if this plan to put the child near the edge of the water?
