*Who Am I?*
That’s the question so many of us ask or think in our lifetime.
Who am I?  What is my purpose?
Does anyone even care?
Who am I?  The first thing you need to understand is that you are God’s creation.
Jeremiah 1 says that before you were even formed in your mom’s womb, God knew you, set you apart, and appointed you to your calling.
Jeremiah’s calling was prophet, my calling is pastor, Bro. Bruce labors, Aunt Sis cooks and cleans, etc.
The Bible says that you were created in God’s (our) image.
Detail was given to every fabric of your being.
Who am I?  The Bible teaches us time after time that we are loved.
John 3:16 says God so loved us that He gave his only Son.  1 John 4:7-8 says that everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  1 Cor 13 gives us the details of what love is to God.
He has angels watching over you.
He wrote scripture and the earthly laws that we live by in such a way that if we just fall into natural order, we are blessed.
Why?
Because God loves us and wants the best for us.
Who am I?  Well, let’s go on the straight and narrow path first.
If you are a child of God, then you are “in Christ”.
In Christ, we have many things that we could not have without Him.
Scriptures teach us that no one is righteous and we all fall short of God’s glory (Rom 3:10.
23).
But in Christ we are justified freely by His grace( Rom 3:24; Acts 13:39); we are righteous (2 Cor 5:21); we receive the gift of God’s salvation through grace (Eph 2:8-9); our belief in Christ is credited to us as righteousness (Rom 4:3, 23-24); and 1 Cor 1:30 says “/It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption”./
/            /In Christ, we are offered grace through faith in Jesus.
Once we accept that gift, we are justified through Christ’s sacrifice.
We are declared righteous in our faith in Jesus.
We are sanctified through our daily saturation of Him in our lives.
We are made holy through a life of obedience and sacrifice as God’s will is instilled in us.
Who am I?  I am humbled to understand and know that I can do nothing of value without God in my life.
Abraham had to humble himself and know that God would provide a way out of sacrificing Isaac.
David had to humble himself in knowing that he made mistakes and had to suffer the consequences of his actions, though he trusted God.
Jesus had to humble himself in the midst of tremendous torture knowing that he committed no crimes or sin for our salvation.
Pride goes before destruction, Proverbs 16:18 says, and a haughty (arrogant) spirit before a fall.
Be mindful of your mindset in everything so that you don’t find yourself flat on your face.
Trust me, I’ve been there, and it’s not a pretty sight.
Who am I?  Now let’s imagine the other side of the coin.
What if you are not God’s child?
Time and again through direct statements and parables we see those who are not under God’s wing are cast out.
They are represented as being in darkness where weeping and gnashing of teeth are the norm.
They are not satisfied in this life, and are given over to their depraved minds (Rom 1).
Here is what 1 Tim 4:1-8 says, “/The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.
They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth.
For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,  because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.
Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”/
Revelation teaches us that when it’s all said and done, the devil, his fallen angels and those who he has deceived will be cast to outer darkness for all eternity.
Who am I?  You see, we are a creature of free will.
We see this in the story of the Garden of Eden.
Eve chose to listen to the serpent, and Adam chose to listen to Eve.
They both chose to hide from God.
The serpent, Satan, chose to consider the thoughts of being greater than God is.
We have the choice to follow God’s will or to do things our own way.
God love us in such a way, that He doesn’t want to impose His will on us unwanted.
He wants us to choose of ourselves that we want what He knows is best for our lives.
Who am I?

I am God’s creation, created in His image.
I am loved.
I have the gift available of grace, salvation, justification, sanctification, righteousness,       holiness, eternal life.
I have the ability to walk in wisdom and knowledge, or in deception and lies.
I have a free will, and can choose my course.
I am more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.
I am the apple of God’s eye.
I am a child with a promise…with a whole bunch of promises!!!
And regardless of what I choose, God still loves me.
