Training for hunting with bow and arrow…

How many go into battle or some sort of struggle without first thinking out and/or preparing for the job ahead?

Or greatest struggle or battle in this life does not take place in the natural or in what we can see, feel, touch, hear, or smell.

Our greatest battle comes against us in spiritual realms, by adversaries that set their sites on our weaknesses, not on our strengths.

John 1:1 NIV

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Philippians 2:9-11 NIV

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Hebrews 12:14b NIV

without holiness no one will see the Lord

What we have here is God’s Word, Jesus Christ, spoken to us through a minister of the Gospel, working together with faith, compounded with our purposeful seeking of relationship with God.

Ephesians 6:17-18 NIV

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NKJV

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Ephesians 6:12 NIV

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Revelation 19 reveals the story of Jesus riding a White Horse defeating Satan and all of his followers with the sword in his mouth.

Hebrews 4:12 NIV

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 NIV

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

A knife does not continue to stay sharp and pointy.  We must sharpen and keep fresh and true the weapons God has trusted us with if we are to be effective against the devil’s wiles.

Jesus is the answer; he is the way, the truth, and the life; in him is knowledge, salvation, and peace; he alone holds the keys to death, hell, and the grave; he is the Alpha and Omega.  He is the beginning and ending.  Choose him today!!!
