Introduction

I prepare to preach I feel that I must state again that sometimes I do and sometimes I don't list my sources but If you are curious where I got material or are interested in a topic please see me. I can help you. As I prepared for this week I found many good lessons from CARM.org & ColdcaseChristianity
We have been going through the Life of Jesus. And today we are talking about the last bit of teaching that Jesus will ever Give. It doesn't matter that he was dead and then raised from the dead before he gave it.
Matthew 28:16–20 CSB
The eleven disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped, but some doubted. Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

This Passage is called the Great Commission. It isn't going to be an easy commission.
A commission is an instruction or duty given to a person or group of people. This is the call to go its the function of the disciples of Christ. What are your Goals this is the great goal of the disciples.
The 11 disciples went to the mountain. Probably the same mount of Transfiguration but don't know for sure, not told. Not important.
They are not in a back room like they have been since his Death they are not hiding. Some Worshiped Jesus, some of the Disciples doubted Him. Jesus did not reject those who doubted. Jesus does not rebuke the worship.
Why is that important?
It shows that He is God!
All Authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Jesus has all the Authority. Authority to forgive sins (Luke 5:20). Authority to meditate to the Father (1 Tim 2:5). Authority to send the Holy Spirit (John 14:26). Authority to open the hearts and minds of his people (Luke 24:45). Authority to reveal the Father (Matt 11.27). Authority to give eternal life to whom He chooses (John 10:21-28). And it is with that Authority we are called to Go and make disciples.
Without authority a commission is useless. I was commissioned by Arbuckle Baptist Church to Be President of the USA. Doesn't work. Arbuckle as wonderful of a church it is does not have the authority to claim that I am president. Arbuckle Baptist Church was the church that did commission me into ordination.
It is with all authority of Heaven and earth that This claim is made. God and make disciples and Baptizing. Baptizing was not just a Christian thing. But it does show your commitment to the Lord and his call. It does symbolize death and Resurrection (Romans 6).
Was this commission to the Disciples, the 11 that were there?
Yes it was.
Did they fulfill the Great Commission?
Yes, By making Disciples all over the known world the Roman Empire and beyond they did fulfill this
What does this mean for us?
If we read the end of the commission we see that the command was to teach their disciples to follow all the command of Jesus. They were disciples of Jesus. That Line is the same line that you come from Disciples made disciples and made disciple.
Some of you were disciple well and some not so well. But you are disciples of Jesus called to follow all the commands of Jesus, All that he taught them. Including the commission to go and make disciples.

Making Disciples

Repeat after me, I can be a disciple Maker
What does it mean to make disciple?
What does it say

Evangelism

First Evangelism
State the truth. Make case. Tell people about the cure that is Jesus Christ. Know what he has done for you. Love and believe enough to tell others. Know enough of truth to tell it. Part of that is Exposing Lies.
The Holy Spirit (HS) saves, but you are the chosen instrument.
Have you ever though that you are the Chosen instrument of God?
God didn’t have to use you. He could have just zapped all people in to belief or brought down angels to talk to each person, or even the rocks can cry out. But God chose you. What an honor. What a responsibility.
Repeat after me, I can be a disciple Maker

Baptism

Leading them to Baptism
A Symbol of their inward believe.
Acts 8:29–31 LEB
29 And the Spirit said to Philip, “Approach and join this chariot.” 30 So Philip ran up to it and heard him reading aloud Isaiah the prophet and said, “So then, do you understand what you are reading?” 31 And he said, “So how could I, unless someone will guide me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
Acts 8:36–39 LEB
36 And as they were traveling down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?” 38 And he ordered the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water—Philip and the eunuch—and he baptized him. 39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him any longer, for he went on his way rejoicing.
Baptism is a cause for rejoicing.

Walk Humbly With Your God: The heart of The Discipleship

Showing them how to act out their faith. Teaching them all things. Each baptized convert under the discipline and who Bible indoctrination of the local church by the Holy Spirit.
Walk this way. Not according to American social norms. But according to the scriptures. and trust me there are a lot of things we add according to tradition that should not be there. The scriptures should be our Guide. If you don’t like the way someone does something but you can’t point to chapter and verse in context (very important), need to ask where does this come from.
Walk this way and I will show you Christ to the absolute ability that I have. Means you have to be vulnerable. If some one is going to follow you you have to lead not only in you success but how to repent when you fail.
Repeat after me, I can be a disciple Maker

Next Steps

Most people never evangelize. And even fewer make Disciples.
We don't for a variety of reasons, Fear, Shy, Don't know how, It's the pastors Job, And other excuses. That we feed ourselves to make ourselves feel better. But it is out job our commission. To put in the hard work And it is hard work. Of knowing what we believe and why. Knowing the case. And saying to people this is the teachings of God. Not saying you have to raise them. Like in salvation some plant others reap you may be only a season. But if you are not you are failing
Let us be true to the call And
Go and Make disciples
Repeat after me, I can be a disciple Maker
