Introduction

Luke 24:5–7 ESV
And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.”
=====
Today we celebrate the most important and relevant event of not only Christian History but of all human history.
The event that has given hope to all of humanity. An event that has opened the gates of The Kingdom to many; THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST!!
The two most important dates of Christendome are the incarnation and the resurrection of Jesus Christ
Christianity is edified and built on the resurrection of Jesus.
No resurrection no Christianity
No resurrection? God would be a liar (God would be false) the bible would be full of lies!
• Without resurrection, there is no salvation. There’s no forgiveness.
• No resurrection, there’s no hope, there’s no heaven or kingdom of God for any human being.
======

Denying the Resurrection

All of those who deny the resurrection of Christ, they also reject the kingdom of God and its justice!
• They reject the forgiveness of their sins.
• They reject God's grace and mercy.
• They refuse to be washed and justified in the blood of Christ
• And in that unbelief, they condemn themselves to spend the eternity in the lake of fire.
=====
The Devil knows that Christ rose from the dead, yet he denies the truth of the resurrection!
He creates a series of arguments to confuse people's minds. As long as people reject this truth, they are under condemnation.
The devil has tried by all means to erase, from the pages of the bible and from the context of history the truth of the resurrection.
For the simple reason; the resurrection is the foundation and the pillars of the building of the body of Christ which is the church.
=====
The church (the body of Christ) is founded and built on the miracle of the resurrection.
• Remove the truth of resurrection, and the entire building collapses.
• The resurrection is the backbone of Christian doctrine.
• Without the resurrection, everything that Christ said would be a lie.
• Everything that Christ did; the miracles of healing, his power over nature, and his teachings would have no foundation.
• Christ himself would be an impostor, a liar and a blasphemer: because his virgin birth would be a lie, when he declared himself a son of God doing equal to God, it would be blasphemy.
• We would also be false witnesses and worthy of pity:
• Worst of all, we will remain under condemnation, without hope and destined to spend the rest of eternity in the lake of fire.
For this and many other powerful facts, the resurrection of Christ is by far, the most powerful and relevant miracle ever happened in history.
=====

The Empty Tomb

However, the empty tomb is the very real testimony to the resurrection of Jesus; and that is why we’re here today, celebrating the marvelous resurrection of Jesus Christ.
As believers we have declared faith in the eye witness accounts of those who were with Jesus for 40 days after His resurrection. Not only did they see Him, but they ate and spoke with Him.
=====
On that morning, the angels standing tomb side, confronted the women saying, “Why do seek the living among the dead?”
What an interesting question...
Luke 24:6–7 NASB95
“He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”
Jesus had resurrected! The tomb was empty!!
The prophecies were fulfilled and everything that Christ said was true.
CHRIST WAS DELIVERED IN THE HANDS OF SINFUL MEN.
• CHRIST WAS CRUCIFIED AND DIED ON THE CROSS.
• AND TODAY IS THE THIRD DAY,,, CHRIST HAS ALREADY RISEN!
Once again, Christ had fulfilled his promise! Christ has proven to be truthful! Trustworthy!
==================================
Let’s focus our attention on to 3 big take aways:
Jesus has defeated death
Jesus has defeated Satan and his armies
IN HIS RESURRECTION, HE COMPLETED THE WORK OF REDEMPTION. (HE PAID THE PRICE OF OUR REDEMPTION)
=====

Jesus Christ Has Defeated Death

The resurrection of Christ shows that he fought with death and conquered it!
Simply, Christ is God, He is the eternal life, He is the almighty.
Christ said; “I am the resurrection and the life!
The battle began at the same moment that the heart of Christ stopped beating.
• The battle was fought in the deep darkness of the abyss.
• The battle went from power to power.
• The battle was to destroy the empire of hades and death.
====
Christ prophetically describes the intensity of the battle:
Psalm 18:4–5 NASB95
The cords of death encompassed me, And the torrents of ungodliness terrified me. The cords of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me.
Christ says to the father:
Psalm 16:10 NASB95
For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.
The empty tomb declares that Christ is eternal life:
John 14:6 NASB95
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
Acts 2:24 NASB95
“But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.
====
John the Revelator says:
Revelation 1:17–18 NASB95
When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
Today, I would like you to be fully certain that in the most bitter, sad and painful moments of your life, Jesus is with you and is walking with you!
===
1 Corinthians 15:55 NASB95
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
Romans 6:9 NASB95
knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.

POINTS TO REAFFIRM:

1. Today we celebrate that the resurrection is a fact, it is true, it is not a fantasy. Believe it or not, that does not change the truth of the resurrection.
As that Christian thinker said: JLH
"Present the true body of Christ and then we will stop believing in the resurrection!"
2. The resurrection of Christ is the most relevant, highest and sublime, most powerful and amazing miracle that has happened in the history of human beings.
3. The resurrection gives validity (credibility, truthfulness) to the message and doctrine of Christ.
The resurrection validates all the miracles of Christ. All the supernatural works were done in the power of God. Some blasphemed God, attributing to Beelzebub all the miraculous works of Christ.
====
4. The resurrection validates and proves the divine origin of Christ.
5. It establishes as truth, the virginal conception of Christ. It checks and establishes the doctrine of the incarnation, “Immanuel,” God with us, God in our midst.
6. The resurrection proves that Christ is the Messiah, the father's anointed, the only begotten son, sent to this world to pay the price of humanity's redemption.
7. The resurrection of Christ ensures your resurrection, assigns you a place in the kingdom of the living, the kingdom of God.
====
The resurrection is the fundamental basis of our faith. Consequently, the resurrection is:
• The basis of our doctrine.
• The basis of our faith.
• The basis of our salvation.
• The basis of God's forgiveness, grace and mercy.
• The basis of our own resurrection.
====
The resurrection of Christ confirms that the righteousness of God was fully satisfied by the work of Christ.
It confirms that God's love, grace and mercy were not broken in any way.
It means that God can love and forgive the sinner without breaking his righteous character or violating any of his commandments.
The resurrection of Christ is the fact that changed the eternal destiny of humanity. THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST MARKS THE WAY TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD, OF ALL THE CHILDREN OF GOD.
FINAL/ END
GRADES:
The reign of death consists of two parts;
Spiritual death is the separation of the soul from people and from God. (there is an intermediate barrier between God and men)
Physical death; it is the cessation of all vital organs and the disintegration of the human body.
The Empty Tomb: Demonstrate Christ's Victory!
We know that at the moment of death, all systems in the body cease (stop their activity) and then, the mechanism of self-destruction is activated in the body.
It means that when the heart of Christ stopped:
The entire circulatory system ceased its activities.
His respiratory system stopped.
His digestive system stopped.
All his systems ceased, his cells literally died completely, Jesus died.
Then, at that moment, the mechanism of self-destruction must have been activated, (corruption (Psalm 16:10)
Then the miracle happened:
Death could not turn on (activate) the mechanism of self-destruction in Christ.
Here no longer mattered time ,,, but the inability of death to destroy the body of Christ.
I assure you that if Christ does not rise, to this day, death would still be trying to destroy the body of Christ, and Christ would be with a smile on his lips. (would be known as the sleeping beauty, or the sleeping Messiah)
It was not a question of time, but of authority, death cannot defeat the living Christ, he is eternal life, he is eternity!
UNDERSTAND: That in this life, death keeps you separated from God, (from his communion and communication, under condemnation, under judgment, without redemption) and if you physically die in that state, then you are separated from God for the rest of eternity suffering in the lake of fire.
That is why it is necessary to recognize the sacrifice of Christ on the cross and accept Christ as our substitute. Accept that the blood of Christ is the only thing that erases sin.
All this would not be possible if Christ had not risen.
