Galatians 6

Galatians 6 HCSB
Brothers, if someone is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual should restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so you also won’t be tempted. Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone considers himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But each person should examine his own work, and then he will have a reason for boasting in himself alone, and not in respect to someone else. For each person will have to carry his own load. The one who is taught the message must share all his good things with the teacher. Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap, because the one who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith. Look at what large letters I use as I write to you in my own handwriting. Those who want to make a good impression in the flesh are the ones who would compel you to be circumcised —but only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. For even the circumcised don’t keep the law themselves; however, they want you to be circumcised in order to boast about your flesh. But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through the cross, and I to the world. For both circumcision and uncircumcision mean nothing; what matters instead is a new creation. May peace come to all those who follow this standard, and mercy to the Israel of God! From now on, let no one cause me trouble, because I bear on my body scars for the cause of Jesus. Brothers, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

Restoration

This word is a medical term, simply means “set a bone.” This bone is to be set gently with as little pain as possible. In order to do this individuals must pay close attention to what they are doing, making sure that we overcome the temptation of causing more pain.

Deception

Teachers/Preachers
THE DECAY OF CONSCIENCE
BY PRESIDENT CHARLES G. FINNEY.
THE INDEPENDENT.
NEW YORK, DECEMBER 4, 1873
Brethren, our preaching will bear its legitimate fruits. If immorality prevails in the land, the fault is ours in a great degree. If there is a decay of conscience, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the public press lacks moral discrimination, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the church is degenerate and worldly, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the world loses its interest in religion, the pulpit is responsible for it. If Satan rules in our halls of legislation, the pulpit is responsible for it. If our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations of our government are ready to fall away, the pulpit is responsible for it. Let us not ignore this fact, my dear brethren; but let us lay it to heart, and be thoroughly awake to our responsibility in respect to the morals of this nation.

Sowing and Reaping

A farmer’s term for what you plant into the ground; water and feed, that seed will bear fruit or plant of that kind.

Final Warning

Christ offers us freedom from the bondage of sin, transgressions, and inequities. This freedom is in conscience, education, religion, and application. Freedom comes with great responsibility; individually and corporately. Paul reveals his scars of this belief and Luke records much of Paul’s trials and tribulations throughout the book of Acts. Paul’s final request is that Congregation of Galatians may experience peace, mercy, and grace regardless of the situations and circumstances they face.
