Here is the problem: Humble attitudes and loyalty are difficult character traits to have.

It is far easier to join in with the crowd that bullies someone.
It is far easier to put down a friend to look better in the eyes of someone else.
It is far easier to say no when God calls you to something, “No God. I’m doing it my way.”

Good character is demonstrated so we can follow it

All of us can see these good character traits Mary demonstrates and try to follow them because we know they are in line with how God desires us to act.
God “favored” Mary. Favor in the Greek is (charitoō) which means: “show grace to; will bestow favour; to have grace shown one, to be highly favoured”
Used also in Ephesians 1:3-6 as the phrase “bestowed on us”
How can we be like Mary?
Story of DBC setting up the chairs for graduation.
Story of high school sophomore basketball team. Teammates making fun of my friend who was not that good. I told them to stop and that that wasn’t okay. They were silent and one of them goes, “Grant, do you like Buelna or something?” “Yes. I like him, he is my friend and I think he is a cool dude.” And the convo was over.
How can you become more humble and loyal? What do you need to ask God to change in your heart? What do you need to confess today and be forgiven for sins of pride and/or speaking poorly of others?
