TITLE: RENEW YOUR MIND TO RECOVER
SCRIPTURE: Romans 12:2-3
* Paul writing to Roman Christians tells them the way to be transformed is to renew our minds or change the way we think.
* The devil knows how important our mind is so he targets our thinking or mindset with deception. 2 Corinthians 11:3
* You may have been genuinely born again and be seated in heavenly places but there will never be a manifestation of this if you have an earthly or worldly mindset. Colossians 3:1-2
* Let us look at an example in our theme chapter. 1 Samuel 30:21-25
* How did they develop "the worthless and wicked" mindset? 1 Samuel 22:1-2
* "All the wicked and worthless[c] men" had the individual or limited mindset. 1 Samuel 30:22
* David had a kingdom mindset. 1 Samuel 30:23-25
* The wicked and worthless men said "Because they did not go with us, we will not give them any of the spoil that we have recovered" 1 Samuel 30:22
* David said "you shall not do so with what the Lord has given us, who has preserved us and delivered into our hand the troop that came against us". 1 Samuel 30:23
* David spoke on his authority as the leader and backed his statement with principle. 1 Samuel 30:24-25
* To transition from the wilderness to the Promised Land, we must change our mindset.
* We must transition from a mindset of dependency on manna to the responsibility of working with our blessing to produce. Joshua 5:12
* In the wilderness Israel was continually "passing through." But the Promised Land it is about possessing and occupation. Luke 19:13 [KJV].
* In the wilderness we lust after and seek to return to Egypt (our past). Exodus 16:3, Numbers 11:5-6
* In the Promised Land the reproach of Egypt (our past) is rolled away. Joshua 5:9
* In the wilderness we blame others for our problems. Numbers 14:2-3
* In the Promised Land we claim and enforce the promises of God. Joshua 14:6-15
