Matthew 18:21-34

Matthew 18:21–34 AV
21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. 23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. 24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. 25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. 26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. 28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest. 29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. 31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done. 32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: 33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? 34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
Matthew 18:35 AMP
35 So also My heavenly Father will deal with every one of you if you do not freely forgive your brother from your heart his offenses.
Beware Of The Stronghold Of Cold Love
Your Christianity is only as real as your love is.
A measurable decrease in your ability to love is evidence that a stronghold hold of cold love is developing within you.
GUARD AGAINST UNFORGIVENESS!
"Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold"

LAWLESS, LAWLESSNESS Terms used by modern translations to describe people not restrained or controlled by law, especially God’s law. As rebellion against God, sin is lawlessness

1 John 3:4 AMP
4 Everyone who commits (practices) sin is guilty of lawlessness; for [that is what] sin is, lawlessness (the breaking, violating of God’s law by transgression or neglect—being unrestrained and unregulated by His commands and His will).
2 Thessalonians 3:4 AMP
4 And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing and will continue to do the things which we suggest and with which we charge you.

LAWLESS[Gk ánomos] (Acts 2:23; 2 Thess. 2:8; 1 Tim. 1:9; 2 Pet. 2:8); AV also WICKED, UNLAWFUL; NEB also HEATHEN, WICKED, EVIL; [athémitos] (1 Pet. 4:3); AV ABOMINABLE; NEB FORBIDDEN; [áthesmos] (2 Pet. 3:17); AV WICKED; NEB UNPRINCIPLED; “lawless one” is supplied by the RSV in 2 Thess. 2:9; LAWLESSNESS [Heb. ḥāḵām—‘wise man,’ emended to ḥāmās—‘violence’; LXX paranómon—‘law-breaking’] (Prov. 11:30); AV WISE; NEB VIOLENCE; [Gk. anomía] (2 Thess. 2:3, 7; He. 1:9; 1 Jn. 3:4 bis); AV SIN (based on var reading, hamartía, in 2 Thess. 2:3), INIQUITY, TRANSGRESSION OF LAW; NEB WICKEDNESS, WRONG, “break God’s laws.”

Matthew 24:12 AMP
12 And the love of the great body of people will grow cold because of the multiplied lawlessness and iniquity,
A major area of spiritual warfare that has come against the church is the sphere of church relationships.
John 17:21 TPT
21 I pray for them all to be joined together as one even as you and I, Father, are joined together as one. I pray for them to become one with us so that the world will recognize that you sent me.
How Does The Church Become One with Jesus & God the father?
Love is a passion for oneness.
Bitterness is characterized by a noticeable lack of love.
This cold love is a demonic stronghold. In our generation cold love is becoming increasingly more common.
It shuts down the power of prayer and disables the flow of healing and outreach.
In fact, where there is persistent and hardened unforgiveness
in a person or church, the demonic world (known as "torturers," has unhindered access.
The Scriptures warn’s that even a little root of bitterness in a person's life can spring up and defile many

14 In every relationship be swift to choose peace over competition,k and run swiftly toward holiness, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.l 15 Watch over each other to make sure that no one misses the revelation of God’s grace. And make sure no one lives with a root of bitternessm sprouting within them which will only cause trouble and poison the hearts of many.

Hebrews 12;14-15

14 In every relationship be swift to choose peace over competition,k and run swiftly toward holiness, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.l 15 Watch over each other to make sure that no one misses the revelation of God’s grace. And make sure no one lives with a root of bitternessm sprouting within them which will only cause trouble and poison the hearts of many.

Hebrews 12:14–15 AMP
14 Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord. 15 Exercise foresight and be on the watch to look [after one another], to see that no one falls back from and fails to secure God’s grace (His unmerited favor and spiritual blessing), in order that no root of resentment (rancor, bitterness, or hatred) shoots forth and causes trouble and bitter torment, and the many become contaminated and defiled by it—
Bitterness is unfulfilled revenge.
Bitterness is a classic symptom of the stronghold of cold love.
To deal with this, you must repent of this attitude and forgive the one who hurt you.
This painful experience was allowed by God to teach you how to love your enemies.
God gives us a way out: LOVE!
As you embrace God's love and begin to walk in forgiveness, you are actually pulling down the stronghold of bitterness and its manifestation of cold love in your life.
LOVE WITHOUT COMMITMENT Is NOT LOVE
Matthew 24:10–12 AV
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
People withdraw from being committed, never realizing that their love is growing cold!
They have withdrawn from the love of God. Jesus said, "It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come."
Matthew 18:7 CJB
7 Woe to the world because of snares! For there must be snares, but woe to the person who sets the snare!
There will never be a time when "stumbling blocks" cease to be found upon your path.
People do not stumble over boulders but over stones-little things.
Have you stumbled over someone's weakness or sin lately?
Have you gotten back up and continued loving as you did before, or has that fall caused you to withdraw somewhat from walking after love?
To preserve the quality of love in your heart, you must forgive those who have caused you to stumble. Every time you refuse to forgive or fail to overlook a weakness in another, your heart not only hardens toward them, it hardens toward God
Mark 12:30–31 TPT
30 You are to love the Lord Yahweh, your God, with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, with every thought that is within you, and with all your strength. This is the great and supreme commandment. 31 And the second is this: ‘You must love your neighbor in the same way you love yourself.’ You will never find a greater commandment than these.”
