A child of God ought to by different
No matter the burden, no matter what is happening to you - a child of God ought to think, talk, and do things differently than a flesh driven, carnal world thinks, talks, and does
Swear not!
Matthew 5:33–37 KJV 1900
Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
Harvey - swear that he would be on time, bring this for work, do this for work
God intends His children to be such man of our word that no oaths are necessary.
A common saying in lands where the flag of the empire was displayed was, “It is the word of an Englishman.”
James 5:12b KJV 1900
But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
David Lingstone -
At every great crisis, he retreated back upon his favorite text: “lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world” (Matt. 28:20). He said, “It is the word of a gentleman of the strictest and most sacred honor—and that’s an end of it!”
A Christian’s word should be our bond. When people discover you are a child of God, our word is under scrutiny. Be true to it!

Proverbs 22:1 KJV 1900
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, And loving favour rather than silver and gold.
