White kids are taught to hate their whiteness. Boys are taught to hate their masculinity. Girls to hate their femininity. Children of all color and both sexes are taught to hate their country. We push self-loathing onto out kids and then wonder why they are depressed and suicidal.
The great movement of gender identity, critical social justice, etc, is a movement of sin against God. However, the foundation of this movement is nothing new to society. The account of Sodom and Gomorrah, the account of Romans 1 points that truth out for us.
I want to take time and explain from the Bible the Devil’s plan of such activity in the pre-Incarnation age and also the post-Incarnation age (today). As much as God has a Sovereign plan for His union with humanity, Satan also has an agenda to disrupt that plan.
Society today are crying out injustice or inequality when distinctions are made between male and female or between different cultural groups or those of different color. They only celebrate distinctions when it advances the anti-God agenda. We would be naive to think the battle is just that of a surface matter.
1) Pre-Resurrection Distinction Battle - Genesis 2:15-25
A. The created order
Notice the word “man”
Notice the word “woman”
Notice the “roles” God gave to each of them.
God never said either role was more important or was He being unjust. To say this role distinction was unjust is to declare that God is NOT GOD.
God declares that there is unity between the man and woman (v23)
This union is a union of celebration and great purpose (v24)
This union of strength and distinction of which man was NOT ASHAMED!
B. The enemy’s disorder
Notice what happens right after God approves the distinctions between man and woman; SATAN SHOWS UP! (chapter 3)
The goal of Satan was that the understanding of man be opened up to the realm of sinful pleasure; “...knowing good and evil.”
Yes, they would know “like God”; truth and evil.
What the devil did not tell them was that God has a nature to “understand” evil but never have it to become a part of His nature. MAN CAN’T DO THAT!
Satan used the smoke screen of a twisted truth in order for the first family to be caught in a sin that would eventually spiral them into sin for generations.(vv4-6)
Satan was simply saying, “don’t be satisfied with the distinction God has placed on you. You can protest and get your way.”
Satan pointed out the DISTINCTION made it out to be an INJUSTICE move of God and then acts as if he is there to save the day.
The liberal left do the very same thing; BUILDING STRAW MEN.
The “way” they wanted is not the way they got!
The lacking of embracing God’s distinctive roles for the family carved future moments of regret and grief.
Example: pain in child birth, Cain killing Abel, etc.
Now, why was Satan on the attack like He was in a pre-Incarnation age?
He was raging war on the promise God made of the PROMISED SEED.
If the devil could disrupt the genealogy of which Jesus Christ would be born, he would be victorious.
You see this effort all through the OT.
Examples: Abraham & Sarah, Moses (national), Jesus’ birth, Sodom & Gomorrah, etc.
Transition: I just illustrated to you why such activity was thriving in a pre-Resurrection age. Now we must understand the reason the Devil is on the attack of the distinctions God places within the home. Is there a bigger picture to all of this? YES!
2) Post-Resurrection Distinction Battle
A. The Battle Continues - Romans 1:
See verses: 21-32

B. The Truth Continues - 1 Peter 3 & Ephesians 5:21-23
God’s instruction and EMPOWERMENT is to a marriage of a heterosexual man and women. (v21)
The duty and blessings of Biblical wifehood:
(v22) A ONE man kind of wife and a ONE God kind of servant.
(v23) She paints a picture of the church and Christ.
The church is the BODY of CHRIST / man and woman to be one flesh.
Why does the body of Christ lovingly reverence Jesus? He laid down His life for them; grace, mercy, forgiveness, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, etc.
MEN...show your children why their mom respects you and supports you.
If the wife is going to submit to her husband like the church does to Christ, she must be empowered by God.
She becomes a soul-winner through her role (1 Peter 3)
The duty and blessings of Biblical husbandhood: Ephesians 5
Husbands gift their wives with a Calvary like love! (5:25)
Notice the husbandhood in 1 Peter 3:7-9
(v7) “According to knowledge” - You may know your spouse in one season, but seasons are always changing.
Do you not learn more about Jesus in different seasons of life???
What an amazing parallel of learning Christ and learning your wife.
(v7) “Giving honor” - treating her with great value
(v7) “as the weaker vessel” - treat her as if she is a thin pieces of expensive pottery.
(v7) God hears the prayers of a Gospel centered husband!
The DANGER of NOT PASSING THE ROLES: You are discouraging and removing the MEN from stepping up to spiritually lead their families and the WOMEN from supporting her husband’s role and joining him in the leadership endeavor to ultimately shine the light of the Gospel.
BIG PICTURE: To minimize the BIBLICAL FAMILY is an effort exterminate the church and extinguish the light of the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.
There is a great distinction between us and Jesus:
We have no power to save ourselves and deserve die and go to a devil’s hell.
Jesus loved you first and paid your debt you could not pay that you may come and believe on HIS GOSPEL!
The GREAT DISTINCTION provides for us a PERFECT MEANS of redemption!
Conclusion: Parents…what kind of husband and wife model are you passing down today? If your children only had your model to go by, what would their marriage and parenthood look like? SUBMIT yourselves together in the fear of God and live out the joyfully and beautiful distinctions God has designed you with. Let the Gospel shine through who God has made, called and empowered you too be!
