Last week we looked at the Disciples that Jesus called to help Him in His ministry. This week we are going to look at the miracles Jesus performed.
He performed. Miracles that proved that He was “God With Us!” Miracles that proved He had the power to forgive sins.

2: an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment
Jesus performed many miracles more than are recorded in the Bible.

John 2:4 4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”

Cast out demons
Had Peter catch a fish with a coin in its mouth to pay taxes
Matthew 17:24-27
The Temple Tax
24 After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma temple tax came to Peter and asked, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?” 25 “Yes, he does,” he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. “What do you think, Simon?” he asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes—from their own children or from others?” 26 “From others,” Peter answered. “Then the children are exempt,” Jesus said to him. 27 “But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”
Healed Peter's mother-in-law
Calmed the storm

Today though let's take a look at a miracle were Jesus healed a paralyzed man that was lowered through a roof by his friends
Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man
Mark 2:3–12pp—Mt 9:2–8; Lk 5:18–26
2 A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. 2 They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. 3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” 6 Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, 7 “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 8 Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? 9 Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”

Application
So I ask you who are you in this story?
Of course none of us are Jesus but the others we can definitely relate to.
Are you the paralyzed man
Are you paralyzed by fear
not living you life to the full in the arms of Jesus
Do you understand that you need Jesus but are afraid to seek Him on your own
Do you fear that Jesus isn’t real that He can’t save you because you are two far gone
Para or quad pelagic?
Are you his faithful friends
Who are you carrying to Jesus
Are you willing to dig through the roof to get them to Jesus
Are you willing to do whatever it takes to save the lost?
Are you willing to risk it all to save others?
Are you the teachers of the law
Skeptical
Unloving, Grumbling
Unbelieving
Do you think “why are people so in love with Jesus?”
Are you calling the faithful names
Are you in the way of those carrying people to Jesus
Are you in the way of those just trying to get to Him on their own power
Are you part of the crowd that is amazed at what Jesus does for us.
We should be making it easy for people to find God
James says this in Acts 15:19
19 “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.
Today is the day to make changes if needed.
If you are not part of the solution then you need to become part of the solution.
We need to be friend carrying, roof ripping off followers of Jesus.
Bold Christians that are working and taking risk to
Change Lives and Make Disciples
The world isn’t going to get any better if we fail to take action!
Today commit to following Jesus with a new boldness
Today if you are not a follower of Jesus commit to that today?
