Let your Light Shine:  Light (the Christian life)                   

                        Darkness (life outside of Christ)

 

*Matthew 5:14-16*

14 Ye are the light of the world (“The”) (Whole World) (Reflect God).

A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid (Glowing for others to Look Up~/Find you Up).

 

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel (Basket ~/ Clay Pot ~/ Hide), but on a candlestick (Lamp Stand); and it giveth light unto all that are in the house (Give Light to Everyone).



 

16 Let your light so shine before men (Everybody ~/ Everywhere), that they may see your good works (Excellent Deeds), and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Your God).

 

 

*Ephesians 5:8-9*

8 For ye were sometimes darkness (Once-Didn’t Know ~/ Old Life) (Heart Once Full Dark), but now /are ye/ light in the Lord (Belong ?

Gospel): walk as children of light (Act like People of the Light): 

 

 9 For the fruit of the Spirit /is/ in all goodness and righteousness and truth; (Effects of the Light-Goodness, Honesty, Truthfulness)

 

*Philippians 2:15*

15 That ye may be blameless and harmless (Live Clean (Clean Up Act) and Innocent), the sons of God (Children), without rebuke (No one Talk about you ~/ you must not do anything that they can say is wrong), in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation (Evil, Wicked World), among whom ye shine as lights in the world (bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly)

 

 

*John 1:4-5*

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehendeda it not.

- In Jesus There is Life and the Life is our Light

 

- Our Light shines in a Dark World

 

- The World can’t put our Light Out
