2 Chronicles 28:19-24; 29:1-36

Introduction

Spiritual awakening revival is an extra-ordinary movement of God that produces extra-ordinary results.

1A.      The Condition That Calls for Awakening (28:19-24)

Spiritual Awakening comes in times of great spiritual darkness.  (Isaiah 1:4-20)

The doors of the house of the Lord were shut.

2A.      The Openness that Begins the Awakening (29:1-3)

He opened the doors and repaired it

We are like the temple; body – outer court, soul – inner court, spirit – Holy of Holies.

1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

We must open the door to God

Revelation 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

3A.      The Preparation Required of the Leaders (29:4-15)

Sanctify – set apart to the Lord.

Started with the spiritual leaders – the leaders set the ceiling for what God does in the church

Hebrews 13:17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

They must be clean and close.

4A. The Worship That Accompanies Awakening (29:21-30)

Sacrifices – pictured Christ and His forgiveness.

The worship becomes real – we are created to worship; focus on God.

5A. The Stewardship that Evidences Awakening (29:31-35)

Generosity pours out.

The things of God come first.

6A. The Suddenness of the Awakening (29:36)

God moves suddenly – not worked up by men.
