2 Kings 4:1–7 CSB
1 One of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant, my husband, has died. You know that your servant feared the Lord. Now the creditor is coming to take my two children as his slaves.” 2 Elisha asked her, “What can I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She said, “Your servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.” 3 Then he said, “Go out and borrow empty containers from all your neighbors. Do not get just a few. 4 Then go in and shut the door behind you and your sons, and pour oil into all these containers. Set the full ones to one side.” 5 So she left. After she had shut the door behind her and her sons, they kept bringing her containers, and she kept pouring. 6 When they were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another container.” But he replied, “There aren’t any more.” Then the oil stopped. 7 She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go sell the oil and pay your debt; you and your sons can live on the rest.”

1. Those that serve the Lord have an inheritance

God is always for you
He has promised to bless you for your obedience
Your obedience will bring a blessing to 1000 generations
1 Corinthians 15:58 CSB
58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Remember your inheritance
Stop looking back at the issue
Looking back keeps you living yesterday

2. If you can still cry about yesterday, you are not ready for your future

The widow, obviously did not have time to live in yesterday
Say NO to YESterday, NOsterday, Not Today
She had her time for mourning
The creditor was coming for her children
The law demanded payment
The man of God did not change the law
The man of God changed her focus
Now, she needs a miracle
The husband left her with debt
Some are left in debt, but they don’t have to stay in debt
Don’t let the past keep you from RECLAIMING your inheritance
Wipe the tears off of your eyes
Pull your hair back
Straighten yourself out
Look up, where does your help come from?
Cry out to the ONE that will never leave you nor forsake, HE will answer

3. Become a doer of the Word

Dreams don’t fulfill themselves
You have to be active in the pursuit of your inheritance
The man of God instructed the woman to look within
If you don’t ask, you don’t receive
If you are in a difficult position ask for direction
Direction will come but you must be a doer not a hearer
Those who have an ear, let them hear what the Spirit of God is saying
Get ready for your miracle
What’s in your hand?
What do you have?
What’s in your house?

4. God will use what you bring Him

The widow recognized she had a little bit of oil
Don’t get discourage with the few things that you have
When you give what you have to God, miracles happen
Give to Caesar what is Ceasar’s
Give to God what is God’s
We don’t need the law to change
We need provision to satisfy the creditor
A little bit of oil in God’s hands will last a lifetime
As long as there are vessels to be filled there will be oil flowing
As long as there are servants seeking provision from the Lord there will miracles happening

5. Faith to RECLAIM your inheritance

Some miracles can’t be had unless there is faith
Without faith it is impossible to please God
Your faith will cause miracle to take place
Recognize what God has given you
You have the greatest weapon—Faith
Faith can move mountains
Faith can create miracles
Surround yourself with those that want what God promised you
