Peter is wrapping up his final epistle, and he is showing concern that the false teachers were plaguing the churches, so he wants the readers to persevere in their faith. I believe what we see here is that to persevere, we must guard against error, grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and we must live for His glory.
