Series: “Bible Answers Series on: The End-Time Message”
This Part: Continuation of Part 1

Background

Questions we have answered from part 1:
What is the end-time message?
It is a word of God for the end-time generation of Christians, revealing God’s plan and works, and delivered through God’s messenger.
How does the message compare to the gospel?
The gospel is the good news proclaiming the arrival and presence of the kingdom of God through Jesus Christ, and the opportuniy of entering in through His saving work.
The message is a specific word from that deals with a particular situation of the time.
Noah’s message deals with the problem of his generation, God’s judgment of flood, and the ark that will save the righteous of the day
John the Baptist’s message dealt with the coming of the Christ who will be lamb that takes away the sins of the world.
The message of God in the end-time deals with the spiritual condition of today’s churches, the imminent coming of Christ, and the need for the church to get ready.

Questions to answer

Do we have Bible references that point to the end-time message? [Mayroon bang talata sa Biblia na tumuturo sa mensahe sa huling panahon?]

Malachi 4.5-6

Malachi 4:5–6 NKJV
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. 6 And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

I will send you Elijah the prophet…
God will not send the actual Elijah, but the type of ministry
Elijah’s ministry is a turning of hearts type
1 Kings 18:37 NKJV
37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.”
God will send an prophetic ministry
“…before the coming of the great nd dreadful day of the Lord.”
only one day is referred to here
great and awesome - 2 descriptions of the same day of the Lord
Joel 2:11 NKJV
11 The Lord gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; Who can endure it?
Joel 2:31 NKJV
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
“He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers.”
turn is the key word of an Elijah ministry
2 turning of hearts
first of the fathers to the children
fathers - spiritual leaders of Israel
children - the common Jewish people
second, of the chidlren to their fathers
children - end-time people of God
fathers - the apostles and prophets

Matthew 17.10-13

Matthew 17:10–13 NKJV
10 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” 11 Jesus answered and said to them, “Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things. 12 But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands.” 13 Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist.
Why do the scribes say Elijah must come first?
Kesus affirms the teachings of the scribes
the scribes were aware of the order
“Indeed, Elijah is coming first and restore all things”
This is connected with the future coming of the Son of Man in His kingdom
Matthew 16:28 NKJV
28 Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”
this coming will restores all things, and has nothing to do with John
restoration of all things is an end-time event
Acts 3:19–21 NKJV
19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.

Revelation 10.7

Revelation 10:7 NKJV
7 but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.
[INSERT READING HERE]
This text has two significant references
first, it points to the 7th trumpeting angel
Revelation 8 and 9 - all 6 trumpets have sounded
but in chapter 10 the 7th has yet to sound
hence, “when he shall begin to sound...”
second, it points to the 7th messenger of the Church Ages
WMB used this verse to refer to the 7th messenger of Laodicea
“The mystery of God should be finished...”
the mystery is “finished not revealed
revealed means “to be fully accomplished”
the mystery of God is the same mystery taught by Paul

Matthew 25.1-13

Matthew 25:1–13 NKJV
1 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. 11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
[INSERT READING HERE]
Ten virgins and a bridegroom…
the 10 virgins are Christian churches
the bridegroom is Jesus Christ
most churches await the coming of Christ
“coming out” of the churches could be said to have started since the time of Protestant movement
Not all churches are the same
wise and foolish are set apart by the oil in their vessels
while the bridegroom was delayed…
the churches slumbered and settled in their denominational systems
at midnight a cry was heard...
midnight - spiritual condition of the time when Christ returns
cry - a proclamation, a messenger with a message accouncing the presence of the Bridegroom
this is the end-time message
all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps…
both heard the midnight cry
the foolish has a big problem: her lamp is going out
READY means...
the church has heard the midnight cry announcing the presence of the Bridegroom
the church has responded to the end-time message by rising from slumber and prepares her lamp
the church has extra oil to fill her lamp

Conclusion

WHY DID GOD SEND US A MESSAGE?
TO ANNOUNCE THE ARRIVAL OF CHRIST FOR HIS CHURCH
TO RESTORE THE CHURCH BACK TO HER APOSTOLIC ORIGIN THROUGH AN ELIJAH TYPE MINISTRY
TO PREPARE THE CHURCH FOR THE CATCHING AWAY
THE END-TIME MESSAGE IS A MINISTRY
