Jeremiah 8:20

INTRODUCTION

Jeremiah alludes here to three things that no one should loose.

1A.       THE TRAGEDY OF A LOST YOUTH

“Harvest is past...”

Grain harvest takes place in the spring.

Do not let your youth be loss.

2A.       THE TRAGEDY OF A LOST LIFE

“The summer has ended”

Fruits were harvested in the summer.

Put together this represents the complete cycle of life!

3A.       THE TRAGEDY OF A LOST ETERNITY

“And we are not saved.”

(Mark 8:36‑37)  What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?  {37} Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

APPLICATION

Some have already lost their youth.

Some have already seen much of life slip away.

But you do not have to loose your eternity.
