Why should God’s people prepare to confront the enemy after a great blessing?
Satan sometimes comes as a devouring lion (1 Peter 5:8).
Sometimes as a deceiving serpent (2 Corinthians 11:3).
We must be alert and protected by the whole armor of God he has provided for us (Ephesians 6:10-18).
Joshua 9:14 NIV
14 The Israelites sampled their provisions but did not inquire of the Lord.
Why did the Israelites buy the Gibeonites’ deception?
They walked by sight and not by faith. The leaders of Israel took the “scientific approach” instead of the “spiritual approach.”
True faith involves exercising patience.
Hebrews 6:12 NIV
12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
