Amen. First, turn down to 1st, John 1:9. When you find a place, please stand for reading God's. Holy word.

Canada's 1st, John 1:9, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us, our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. During the war game ABC.

Have you ever made a promise to anyone?

I remember being a kid and being being told Promises by my my dad and grandparents and others and most the time they would keep the word but occasionally they want to keep their word. And what does that do to a child? When they are giving a promise in the chair and their parent doesn't come through. It makes them question their their trustworthiness their truthfulness and maybe as a as a little toddler, you don't think about that. But as you grow there's is kind of a moment that that comes comes about a child's life when they realize, you know what, Dad isn't perfect, he can't fix everything, he's not actually a superhero.

I remember my wife and I when my daughter was much younger, we talked about how let us never speak a promise to our daughter that we are not absolutely certain that that we can do cuz we don't ever want to be one's the the letter down. I will be thinking our our country there's there's many things. We we offer is promises or Sports Heroes and politicians they offer us promises and and what, what happens almost immediately promises. Don't don't come to fruition. And, and then you realize that they can't keep the word even if they intend to. But we worship one who is able to keep his word. And he alone is God. And so the promise that he gives us that we find here, I'm in. If you'd like, if you're the one that likes the bulletin inserts to fill in the blanks, here is your first he is faithful again. He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. What you think about that for a moment? The God is not capable of being unfaithful at what he has spoken, his word will come to pass.

Want you to think about the upper room? Jesus, after they had completed, eating came to them and said, I am going to wash your feet. Now, this was very offensive to his disciples and we may struggle to understand a little bit, why? But this was a job that you couldn't make your slave do. It was lower than the slave. And so, this is something that Jesus being the Lord of all the king of all Kings, the righteous Messiah Heater. Rightly says Lord, you will not, you will not wash my feet cuz he doesn't understand why Jesus is doing here. He goes, he goes on. Jesus goes on to say, if I can't wash your feet, you can have no part of me. You can't be my disciple. There's there's a lesson that is to be learned cuz they rightly recognize that if you have had a bath or a shower, you are clean on the outside except you rewind time and 2000 days. We didn't have her fancy, leather, boots, and socks, and everybody walked around. And if you were fortunate, you had sandals. But even with sandals, the dirt would get in your feet as you sweat. And would like a mud like substance would be on your feet. So when you enter someone's home there, there would be a water basin of some kind so that you can wash your feet cuz that would be the part of you that was unclean. And then, there is something here. We need to see that when Jesus goes to the Cross, when he says, I will take upon your sins. He means it that he went to the cross, and at the cross, your sins were dealt with. And I want us to understand real. Clearly, when Jesus is talking, here is one. John is talking here in 1st John, he says he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness is kind of two things that are going on here at the cross. Jesus does deal with our sins when we have repented truly and place our faith in Christ, our sins have been washed away. They are no more. God remembers them. No more scripture says they are as far as the East is from the west, but then what happens we as Christians were still living with that sinful play? We we still have that moments where things don't go your way, or are sports team or politician doesn't go the way we like or that slow truck pulls in front of you and all the sudden, all these sinful words, or thoughts come to your mind, or all kinds of things, and we send. And so, we, we, we need to do something about this because if we are to follow Christ, truly we cannot be walking in the way of And so that the second portion is that we need to have our feet washed because the defeat represent our our walk with Jesus. Okay, with you. And I we'd still need ever feet wash from time to time because it does not mean that we're not saved or that God somehow the the Salvation Jesus offered on the cross is Nolan void. But it means in our walk with the Lord, there are times where we messed up, we sin, we need to call it's in our world. Today is gotten away from Mike and knowledge. And what sin is What is sin? Sin is the open Rebellion against the will of God.

Understand that when you send you can never just send and it not affect God. You can send against your neighbor and you need to get right with your neighbor. But first and foremost, you have sinned against God. That person has been made in the image of God and then sending you a rebelled against God's will. I want to start us that we are not under the law that the Old Testament was. We've been set free in Christ. We have been freed through his atoning, death on the cross. And so when when we talked about that, great promise of Love Of Christ, that is what we mean. But when we're talking with John is saying that we need to confess our sins. This is a continuation. This is a pattern that you and I should have in our lives.

So we should be be looking to wash that kind of metaphorical dirt of our sin off of our bodies.

So let's talk about confession for a moment cuz this is something the that there's all kind of viewpoints on throughout the church. What does confession mean? When I say confession? I don't want you to think of the Roman Catholic Church in the end of the man in the funny clothes. Getting in the booth, and you telling him what what you've done and then he says, they'll say this many Hail Marys and God will forgive, you know what, the Apostle John is telling us that if you confess your sin, he is faithful to forgive, doesn't say, you need to go to the pastor to confess your sin, or to the elders, you need to confess your sin to him through God and he is faithful to forgive.

And so when we we speak about confession, we we we need to understand what happens if we we do confess our sins, when we have wrong people and confess our sins, we enter back into that, right relationship. That are walk is made new again with the Lord, as part of our sanctification process. If we are unwilling to confess our sins, it shows that maybe we didn't get the first part right at all. when when Jesus speaks about repenting and believing upon him, if we confess our sins, we we show that we have that repentant heart but we if we have this desire not to confess our sins and we we shall we might just be worldly, I want you to think about this. When you, when you sin and let us all acknowledge that, that we we do sin. When you sin? What happens inside? You feel good about it?

No. Usually there's there's an immediate response, a conviction from the Holy Spirit and that is a good thing. We are warned that sin is pleasurable for a season. But ultimately thin is a a fake attempt by Satan to to offer you something that is counterfeit in place of what God has given. God has given us marriage and what is Satan offer? He offers adultery offers pornography, he offers lust, all these things are less than what God has created marriage to be. And so when we we we we talk about confession of sin, understand that the world the worldly idea of confession is to feel bad to feel guilt and shame. And and this leads to depression and sitting in severe cases, suicide attempts, and things like that. But true repentance and God that confession says God. I know I am a wretched sinner. I am the prophet Isaiah standing before a holy God and says, woe to me. I am an unclean man. With unclean words that lives in a nation of unclean people. That that is what the prophet Isaiah with was getting that is how could God use him to Proclaim his message? When he is going to sinner, that is the point. You and I are sinners. If, if the great prophet Isaiah was a sinner, how much more are you? And I, as sinners, Look at the Apostle, Paul, he calls himself, the what the chief of what? The chief of sinners. Was the Apostle Paul more sinful than you. Then how could he make a declaration that he was the chief of all sinners? Unless his confession led him to realize the Holiness of God and how truly horrible sin is in his life, one who is, proclaiming the message the gospel. Understand that confession actually brings us into a closer relationship with Jesus, but having a closer relationship with Jesus will have this consequence, you will realize each, and every time how holy he is. And when you stand in the presence of God, when when you acknowledge, how holy got is, you're going to be left with one conclusion, you are less than that. You are not wholly. You don't deserve to stand in his presence. You don't deserve to be a prey out. I have a father That is the point of the promise you don't deserve it but God has given it to you freely. And so as we walk with the Lord allow us that when we mess up, when we send and we're going to we are warned over and over again. That we are to seek the unity in the body. The church. Why? Because there's going to be disunity cuz people are sinners, myself included, we're going to do things and say things that hurt each other's feelings. Sometimes we don't take in consideration. How our words make may affect someone And sometimes, you know, we're like all that hurts and where the Sinners were the ones, causing the disunity. We first and foremost need to go to God, so that he will reveal to us, our sin, his spirit will convict us in our hearts of what that sin is.

and so this brings me to my next point in your bulletin is if we say we have no sin Are you can say that's harsh but if you were to open your Bible, the 1st John, and back it up with you versus it is actually God through the Apostle, John, who is saying that. If we say we have no sin, we are a liar. So church, are you sinners? Yes, if you don't like, let's talk after church cuz we need to get the bottle. What's at the root of that? Often times will say that the, the world is made up of Sinners and Saints. That's not quite right. The world up is made up of Sinners and redeem. The Sinners we don't stop sending when we come to Christ, we will stop sending when we have been raised to New Life in our glorified bodies in our flesh. Is finally crucified and put all the way to death. The reason we struggle in this life, the reason we sin is because over and over again, it is a war within us. What does the new spirit the new creation? We have been created is at war with the old self. The old man, that that's sinful, the word flash, that is used in scripture. The flesh desires to be gratified, it wants the loss. And once the the things that are about me meme, It's not even ironic anymore. We we live in a generation where our phones are called iPhone. Everything is about us, you looking a culture and it says, you can't say that because that might offend someone.

I want to be real clear God is not concerned with offending you. He's concerned with saving your soul. And so when we speak of confession of sins, it may offend you to look in the mirror and say I am a sinner, I have fallen short of the glory of God. The movie we live in a day and age and in a generation of the church where the we've made the church a fast food, drive-thru like McDonald's, where it says allow you to pick and choose what you want. Here's a tidbit for you. Well when it comes to your church life, the reason that many people get dissatisfied at churches and sometimes leave is because we will stay for what we were one too. If you were one to the fancy lights and the music shows of your mega churches, that is what you'll stay for. if you're 12 the, the family heritage or what's going to happen, when your family passes on her moves away, but if you are 12, the gospel, you will stay till the very end because it is the gospel that you have been called to. We need as a church and as a body of Believers in this community and surrounding communities, to make sure that will God, that we will. What draws us to church? It is important is singing, our hymns is as important as the fellowship is that we have what is really drawing. Us is the gospel of God. it is that at the core of Why We Gather Cuz if we're gathering for other reasons that the gospel is missing, Fellowship is great. But you can have worldly Fellowship. You can listen to worldly music.

but what you can't have is a worldly gospel, cuz it will not make sense to that anyone The gospel of Christ says that he came to redeem. Sinners. That is a promise that's all who place their faith in Christ will be saved. Not might be not will be saved and then you know, well maybe they'll fall away later. If I got a Raticate, anything from your mind today is that if you have truly repented and placed your faith in Christ, The Sims in your future, cannot erase the blood on the cross. Too many of us, we go through this motion and said, how I'm so excited Jesus as save me. But I went a few weeks or months or years and now I've messed up. And I've lost my salvation that is heresy, straight from the pits of Hell by Satan. It is a Lie from the enemy. Put on the helmet of salvation is part of the armor of God. You read about in Ephesians 6. We cannot be deceived by our enemy. You're told to resist him and he will flee. He no longer has power over you. So stop acting weak. You're in a soldier's. You're a soldier in God's Army. Now many times we read the title of God in the Old Testament. What is it? The Lord of Heaven's armies. God is a mighty warrior. His archangels name means mighty warrior that the Angel, Michael. When we think about this, this this battle that, that that we are are are in. We we, we complain about so much that's going on in the world. We don't recognize so much of it is spiritual So you and I as Christians we we need to look at our lives and safety. Are we living as God has called us to live? Do I trust God and his promises? Do I trust that this mess of the world is in right now that somehow God is able to take this and make it work out for the good of those who love him. You trust God, you will If God could send his son. the Eternal one, the one that spoke the world into existence and put him in into A mother's womb as a tiny cell smaller than the pain of a needle. And then could have him lived and go through birth and kids grow up and can live a sinless life, and could put on the sins of the entire world. When Jesus cries out LOL, LOL box of funny. He's crying out. My God. My God. Why have you forsaken me? Christ was forsaken for our sake. If we could understand that and believe that, that is so much more Grand than any of the other Promises of God. If we can believe that Jesus indeed is God In the Flesh and that he has redeemed Us in that he has saved us. He could take care of your bills. We can't believe it that it's going to be. All right, in our land, the church Will Survive. The church has outlasted Rome. The church has outlasted everything. When we read about the promises that he is going to take his bride home and bring her up to heaven and that there will be a marriage Feast, we can believe him for that. Even that's the so many that seems unfathomable. We can believe that a day is soon coming or the world will seem out of control and will, there will be a one world order and the Antichrist will make himself known and he will, he will stand in Jerusalem, declaring himself to be God. We could even call that good because that will end with the return of Christ. The establishing of his kingdom where he will reign forevermore, we can't believe the word of God. When it says, there will be a new Heaven and new earth. In all will be made new. We can believe him. When he's when he says that those have got that have gone on before us, we will see once again.

To those of this church that I have never met that are in. Glory, I look forward to that day and I believe my God for that day, that a day will come where I will meet those that I have never met. That means so much to all of you.

And most of all I believe God because he is the one who has spoken it. It's not a fancy preacher. We don't see Jesus described as a, man, with elegant words or who had the finest clothes, but he came as you and I did and he spoke the truth and even his enemies recognize that he speaks with authority. Our world is looking around and trying to figure out how understand with her Authority is they want to reject the Bible cuz they want to be the authority. God says I am the authority and I will share my glory with no one.

X bar. Weary here is if we say, we have not send, we make him a liar. And his word is not in a See you. And I we have to understand that both that we have to recognize that we are sinners, or it makes us liar. But if we go on to say, I have not sinned, we make him to be a liar and I I would make the assertion that to make God. A liar is worse to be than being a liar yourself.

Understand how Jesus fuse Liars. He equates them. With those who worship false gods, the sexually immoral. There's a few different times in the New Testament that we read descriptions, that say, the the homosexuals, the sexually immoral baby. I doubt, there's those that practice. Witchcraft, the murderer is the, the drunkards and the Liars will not inherit the Kingdom. They will be cast out. in another place, Jesus says, You are chilling with your father, the devil a liar, from the beginning to lie is to act like God's enemy Satan. But had not be part of us, but we let us speak the truth in love. Yes, you disgrace when we're speaking truth but above all, you must speak the truth. You owe it to the one who is the way, the truth and the life.

I want to start a stand as we confess our sins to God that we are not saved by our confession. But we confess because we are saved. Send should bother you if you are a redeem Center. The fact that you have not lived, a perfect life, it should not sit well with you. There should be times when you have to cry yourself to sleep where you can't stand the person that you once were or maybe you can't stand with the way you're living right now. Repent and turn back to God. You'll make you whiter than snow. He will claim you Not just the, the metaphorical cleaning of the body that he did on the cross. But the cleaning of your feet as well then that dirt that still lingers from the old way.

We have a great need for the Forgiveness of our sins and I want us to be real clear when I hate when I speak of our confession when we speak of the. So when we speak that we have repented turned away from our sin and turn to God.

For your final Bolton Point here. It's if confession is genuine. It will always stem from proper sorrow over sin and a real longing to turn from sin. Want you to think briefly right now, you remember the day that you came to Salvation where you repented and believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ.

Remember the message or what's your reading, or what it was that the spirit used to convict you to bring you home?

The problem is the reason that there are many in the American church today, who aren't actually Believers is that when they heard a message, they heard a message. That goes something like this. If you do not believe Upon Jesus, you will spend eternity in hell, and that is a factual and true statement, but it is not hell that you need to be saved. From hell is a consequence of not being saved of being an enemy, a reprobate, a person who is at war with God. What you need to be saved from? It's your sin. You cannot confess your way out of hell. But what you can do is confess your sins to a holy God, who is faithful and just to forgive you. How is but the consequence? No more pain. Could You Preach somebody to heaven then could you end up in hell in that same manner? Promise. So many at her messages that say will God will make you rich and that's why you came or whether you end up rich or not. That's not the gospel. Jesus didn't just come to save you from the fires of hell. He came to save you from your sins and make you righteous and holy because you are to be his bride. His own wife Understand the purpose that Jesus came is not to make the world to rights too. Many of us got this idea that Jesus is the greatest social justice warrior in the history of the world that there is no one more woke is the popular term then Jesus was he didn't overthrow a single physical ruler in his time. What he did overthrow was the spiritual powers of Satan. He freed the people from sin, not from Rome, not from America or insert, whoever Russia, communism, China, insert, whatever there, is there. The kingdoms of the world will be short-lived but his bride will reign forever with him. We are to be co-heirs with Christ. But the issue that must be dealt with is sin. I do politics. Although, sometimes those are sinful. We need to deal with the sin that lays at the heart of our souls.

Marithe you now a quote from one of my favorite living creatures, John MacArthur the more Believers growing Christ, the greater their hatred of sin becomes. And the deeper is there, Penningtons Paul, the most devout and dedicated Christian, at the end of his early, sanctification saw himself as a foremost of Sinners, if confession is genuine, it will always stand from proper sorrow over sin and a real longing to turn from sin.

We as a people, we we need to be looking inwardly. Have we send If so, we need to confess that to God into turn from that sin. Don't get in a place where you're habitually sitting inside. I'm sorry, I messed up again. I did it again and again and again. But actually turn away from that's in turn away. From the thing that the dispute is convicting, you on that. Is that is bringing displeasure to your God. Jesus came to save you from your sins, not to free, you to send more.

So as we we we look to God this week, you willing to confess your sins, don't be too prideful. Pride is what happens, our hearts to our sin. We say, it's okay, Not okay. Pride goes before the fall. It was Pride, that brought Lucifer, an angel of Light down. It can absolutely wreck who you are as a Christian. Try to ruin your testimony. I want to be clear. It's not going to cause you to lose your salvation.

But how are you to share with your family and friends? When they don't see, you living it out when you confess with your mouth, but deny him by your actions, may we be a people that are like infesting people that we confess our sins to God. And that if we wrong one, another, that we are not too big to say, you know what, I messed up. Or under the flip side. Maybe, you've been hurt by someone here in this, this room right now and they don't realize it, go to them, let us be, I'll be honest and truthful with one another. And then come together and then seek the Lord and forgiveness. So that we will have unity. And that we will glorify God hearing protection Comanche County to the very ends of the Earth. Let us pray. Our Father Lord Jesus, thank you for your promise, thank you that you've redeemed us or even that we do not deserve it. I pray if there's anyone here who has not experienced the the fruition of that promised, the Lord that they would confess it to, you know, that they would repent and turn away and trust that you have saved them that you went to that cross with them in mind. As we read an exit is to redeem the Israelites out of Egypt with an outstretched arm. You redeemed us with both arms, outstretched on the cross. And you said, father forgive them for they know not what they do. We know now Lord and we know to turn to you and confess. May we do that this day, your Holy Name of Jesus. Amen.
