Hello Welcome, Glad your here

Review

Week 1: God is revealed through Creation
Week 2 God is revealed through his Presence

Lesson:

As I said this week our lesson is
Revelation Through Word- God has not given us a list of moral rules to follow, but a map to knowing Him and sharing Him
Scripture is God’s Inspired Word
The Bible is God’s Communication with us (not a book of man’s understanding of God
Here is the first example of God’s written communication with his image bearers.
Exodus 20:18–21 CSB
18 All the people witnessed the thunder and lightning, the sound of the ram’s horn, and the mountain surrounded by smoke. When the people saw it they trembled and stood at a distance. 19 “You speak to us, and we will listen,” they said to Moses, “but don’t let God speak to us, or we will die.” 20 Moses responded to the people, “Don’t be afraid, for God has come to test you, so that you will fear him and will not sin.” 21 And the people remained standing at a distance as Moses approached the total darkness where God was.
Here we see the beginning of the story at Sini when God wants to dwell with his people, though we see that they still afraid of him,
Exodus 31:18 ESV
18 And he gave to Moses, when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.
So there we have it, we see that God gives his word to moses in the form of the ten commandments and the Law of Israel.
This is a perfect example of
2 Timothy 3:16 CSB
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness,
So, The Bible teaches us that this word that we read is breathed from God, it is not some work of man’s understanding of God or Men writing about God, it is God partnering with Man to write the word according to his purpose
But what is the point of knowing that scripture is God’s Inspired Word,
Scripture is Given to God’s people so they may know him through
The Word dwelling in our hearts
Deuteronomy 6:4–9 CSB
4 “Listen, Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6 These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. 7 Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your city gates.
The Word guiding us to accomplish the Mission
God’s Word is not a list of moral teachings rather it is a guidebook to follow after God and to know how to be a partner with him in his mission
This was even true with the Law this is why Jesus on the sermon on the mount acts the way he does.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 CSB
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
How do we Handle God’s Word:
Do we use it as short little sayings or as a chore, or do we use it to know God and guide us?
