This morning we will seek to discover the eternal treasures which are awarded to the overcomer and change the way we look at our hardships.
God’s word declares us to be than Conquerors through faith in Christ Jesus! (Romans 8:37)
As Christians, we do not merely survive, We thrive in the Lord.
Yes, we may endure hardship. However, we do not have to face them alone.
We are protected by God, who through the hardships, works all things for our good.
Lets consider the gains of an overcomer.
The overcomer obtains:

Proof - Praise - Glory - Honor

1 Peter 1:3-7
1 Peter 1:3–7 NASB95
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
One’s faith is proven through trials and/or hardships. Trials do not necessarily make us who we are as much as they reveal who we are.
The genuineness of our faith comes to light.
As gold is purified so is our faith. It grows purer and stronger, and proves to be more valuable.
Overcoming builds confidence in our faith.
Enduring faith is praiseworthy, glorious, and worthy of honor at the coming of Christ.
There is no glory in unfaithfulness.
The overcomer gains Proven Faith, Praise, Glory and Honor.
The Overcomer is ever increasing in...

Perseverance - Character - The Love of God

Romans 5:1-5
Romans 5:1–5 NASB95
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
As much as we “Triumph in our hope,” we also triumph in our tribulations.
Tribulations bear results: Perseverance - Strong Character - and The Love of God is poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.
Serving our Lord gets “Sweeter as the Days Go By.”
In the midst of our battles, we have a secret weapon called JOY.
We do not rejoice over the trial, but for the promised outcome of our faith.
Proven Faith, Praise, Glory and Honor. Perseverance, Godly Character, The filling of God’s love.

Endurance & Perfection

James 1:2-4
James 1:2–4 NASB95
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
God is molding and making us into the man or woman He created us to be.
Proven Faith, Praise, Glory and Honor. Perseverance, Godly Character, The filling of God’s love, endurance, and perfection.
God is fitting us for Heaven.
