The Red Sea and Washington, D.C.  Between a rock and a hard place  Between the devil and the deep blue sea  Between Scylla and Charybdis Exodus 14:1-14 Exodus 14:1-4 • 1 Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 2 Speak to the children of Israel, so that they turn and camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal Zephon. Opposite it you shall camp by the sea. 3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, “They are confused in the land. The wilderness has shut them in.” 4 So I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, so that he shall pursue them. And I will be honored because of Pharaoh and because of all his army, so that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so. • They were right where they were supposed to be. “In the perfect will of God,” as we would say today. • When we are doing the God ordained things, in the God ordained place, at the God ordained time, we are in the God ordained place to bring Glory and Honor to our Lord and God. • Note: Even if we don’t see it with our human eyes. Exodus 14:5-8 • 5 When it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled, the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, “Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?” 6 So he made ready his chariot and took his people with him. 7 And he took six hundred select chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and officers over every one of them. 8 The LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel. However, the children of Israel went out with confidence. • Don’t listen to unsaved, unredeemed people for council. Their council is wrong, most of the time. • Make very sure your counselors are redeemed, blood bought, and Heaven bound. • “Confidence?” In What? • Not in what, in Who = God. Exodus 14:9-12 • But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them camping by the sea, beside Pi Hahiroth, before Baal Zephon. 10 When Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and indeed, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they were extremely terrified, so the children of Israel cried out to the LORD. 11 Then they said to Moses, “Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt with us in this way, bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Is not this the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.” 9 • When their eyes got off of God, they went from confident to terrified. • When people get their eyes off God, their hearts follow, then they attack their God ordained Leadership. • Eyes & Heart not on God? Not standing firm in HIM? • Then the world looks better than suffering with Jesus. Confident -- Terrified -- Attacking -- Turning Back Exodus 14:13-14 • 13 But Moses said to • The answer then is the people, “Fear not! the same answer Stand firm! And see the now: Fear Not and salvation of the LORD, Stand Firm! which He will show you • In God’s perfect today. For the Egyptians timing, the world is whom you have seen no match, and The today, you shall never Lord shall fight for see again. 14 The LORD you! shall fight for you, while you hold your peace.” God’s Summary Of This Event Exodus 14:29–31 (MEV) # 1 But the children of Israel walked on dry land in the midst of the sea. And the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. 29 God’s Summary Of This Event Exodus 14:29–31 (MEV) # 2 Thus the LORD saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the seashore. 30 God’s Summary Of This Event Exodus 14:29–31 (MEV) # 3 When Israel saw the great power which the LORD used upon the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD, and they believed in the LORD and in His servant Moses. 31 We can't let what we see happening in America turn our heads from REAL TRUTH! We can't let what we see happening in America turn our heads from REAL TRUTH. [1] Jesus Christ - Savior, Lord, and God, is still on the Throne. We can't let what we see happening in America turn our heads from REAL TRUTH. [2] The only written word you can trust is the Bible. We can't let what we see happening in America turn our heads from REAL TRUTH. [3] The war in the spiritual realm is the real war and what really matters. We can't let what we see happening in America turn our heads from REAL TRUTH. [4] The epicenter of everything real happening on Earth is Jerusalem, not Washington D.C. We can't let what we see happening in America turn our heads from REAL TRUTH. [5] Jesus is returning for a Bride without spot or wrinkle. We can't let what we see happening in America turn our heads from REAL TRUTH. [6] The crazier everything gets, the more we smile and look up, for our redemption draws nigh. REAL TRUTH [7] We walk by faith, not by sight. And the formula for growing your faith is known and written down for you to follow: Faith comes by hearing and hearing through the Word of God (Rom. 10:17). Five Unchangeable Truths That God’s Word Declares For You & I We are adopted into God’s family!!! One “!” for every Romans 8:14–15 (MEV) member of the Trinity. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. 15 For you have not received the spirit of slavery again to fear. But you have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.” 14 We are children of the Living God!!! Romans 8:16 (MEV) The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirits that we are the children of God … 16 If God be for us, who can be against us!!! Romans 8:31 (MEV) What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 31 We are more than conquerors through Christ!!! Romans 8:37 (MEV) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 37 Nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ!!! Romans 8:38–39 (MEV) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities nor powers, neither things present nor things to come, 39 neither height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 38 Solid Rock – AG 4501 Bear Paw Rd P.O.
