So this is a message.
We're just tightening God's love.
And God's rejection were talking about Jacob and Esau fat were talking about the people who got his is called love and those who who he has rejected.
And that's important for us to understand that.

In particular, we struggle with this and we wrestle with this passage.
So we're going to dig into it together here today.
Together Malachi chapter 1, verses 2 through 5.
I have loved, you says the Lord.
But you say, how have you loved?
Us is not Esau Jacob's brother, declares the Lord yet.
I have loved Jacob.
But Esau, I have hated, I have laid waste his Hill Country and left his Heritage to jackals of the desert.
If he Tom says, we are shattered, but we will rebuild the ruins.
The Lord of hosts says, they may build, but I will tear down and they will be called to the wicked country and the people with whom the Lord is angry forever.
Verse 5, your own.
I shall see this and you shall say, great is the Lord be on to the border of Israel.
Let's pray over this together.
Father God, is we finished this introductory package passage to the Book of Malachi.
Our prayer is that you would help us to rightly understand what is happening here.
So that when we get to two other passages that have more direct application to our lives that we would treat it rightly.
We would not start from a skewed beginning but we would start on a firm foundation of your perfect sovereignty and from that Foundation, we would learn what the scriptures have in store for us and that they would affect great life change for each and everyone of us.
Father God, we're so grateful for what you're doing in this place, even though we don't understand every hardship.
We endure we do understand that you are still on the throne for the name of Jesus.
We pray.

So this passage starts off with a wonderful statement from our.
Did you catch it in there?
I have loved.
You says the Lord and we start off talking about with his idea of God's love and depending on how we translate this.
And how we use these words about loved and hated in this chapter.
We could also use that same word and in phrase it as accepted, but thankfully we're not translating it that way.
That's not the that's not the context here is not, God has accepted us.
As God has loved us and prefer that I don't know about you, but you know, he's loved.
But that word is acceptance right there and hated there is an outright rejection, but it's not that these are translated incorrectly or you should be thinking of it in different ways.
Just realize that when we see these words about accepting and rejecting elsewhere in the Hebrew.
This is the idea.
It is the Dance of loving holy without condition and it is the rejection like Esau was rejected and man has a response to this.
We see Israel's response.
And I think it's I think it's the response we see when we try to operate in an Evangelical way.
We try to share the gospel, right?
And you try to tell someone, you know, God loves you so much and if they're not hearing God, call them if he's not mastering their heart in that moment.
The the response of the unbeliever is this.
How?
How does God love me?
I think that's a fair question to ask.
I think we have great answers for in the scriptures.
But it, if I were in the seat of an unbeliever, and I was told, God loves me.
I would say, can you give me an example?
How has God loved me?
And this is what Israel has done because God is proclaiming that he loves the people of Israel.
But as we saw, they were still coming out of this oppression in this Exile.
God, how he loved us.
We're still suffering here.
How do you love us?
God.
And what we see in this is that there is a theme of how God his treasure these people and cared for them.
And we are moving from that theme into God.
Disciplining those, he loves and showing them where they are in error so that they may be correct.
If.
So, God says, I have loved you man responds with how have you loved us and we see different ways throughout the scripture that God has loved us.
So we look at this and we say, okay, with what?
Those ways that we see well, the first we see For All Mankind for all people everywhere, and all country, believer.
An unbeliever.
Alike.
Is this concept of common Grace just like you heard this term common grace before.
I know this is kind of a kind of a, it's a church.
She turned that we use.
It's not something you would use in your and your regular speech.
We take this concept out of Matthew Chapter 5 when Jesus is in The Sermon on the Mount and he's preaching and he speaks about, you know, all unrighteousness that people have in.
And then what you're supposed to look like in in Matthew 5, verse number 45, he says it this way.
So you may be sons of your father who is in heaven, before he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
So you see right here is this idea of common Grace?
It doesn't matter.
If you were a Believer or you are an unbeliever doesn't matter if you are right with God and walking.
Or or you are completely chin rebellion and unrighteousness the sun rose this morning, didn't it?
We live in an increasingly connected world and sometimes it can be difficult to remember this, the sun rose here, but it Rose in China.
First, rose over the Middle East, you know, what is it is gone all around this planet and every country and nation of this world, godson wrote and are many places that they are having rainfall today in that that blessing of rain to cause growth is for the just and the unjust that sun rising and giving us.
Life light, is both for the evil and the good.
You see God's love and there's a common Grace, a common loved being given to all mankind just in his creation.
Not only that there's God's love and acceptance.
I mentioned just a moment ago that this word that we use, we could see it in different paragraphs and different context.
It would be right to take that route.
We would translate as God's accepting someone bringing them in and we have do we have a very Elusive, gospel in the method.
There's only one way to heaven and that is through Jesus sacrifice on the cross for your sins, your belief in him, and his Resurrection being the representation of the Resurrection.
You will have after your death has faith in Christ alone, that saves us.
It's an exclusive method.
But it is the most inclusive faith in the world.
That does not matter.
Where you have come from.
It does not matter what you have done.
It does not matter.
