Christian Standard Bible Chapter 6

10 Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by his vast strength. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens. 13 For this reason take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand. WOSIS14 Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest, NAHIS15 and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace. PS16 In every situation take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. HOSIS17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit—which is the word of God. 18 Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints. 19 Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. 20 For this I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I might be bold enough to speak about it as I should.

The Armor of God is probably the thing that you will here a lot as you grow in your walk with Christ. Now there is a bunch of different things that go in to the process behind the Armor of God and the best part is each piece of Armor is easier to ware at time and harder at other times.

The Armor of God is not something that you have to have perfectly all the time. In truth we would fail if we strived for that perfection.

Today we are going to be talking about the first piece of the Armor: The belt of truth.

Belt of Truth

What is the belt of truth?

Well in reality a belt is used to do what it is used to hold up your pants or used to hold the load for the job your doing.

A construction worker belt holds up his tools while he work on the project.

A police officer holds the tool they need to do the job.

This is a common thing that us Christians have as well. We have the belt of truth that holds the tools for us to succeed in being a follower of Christ.

The truth that we hold is the foundation for the rest] of the armor pieces.

To understand this we have to understand what is truth.

What is Truth

TRUTH (אֱמֶת, emeth; ἀλήθεια, alētheia). Factuality, faithfulness, firmness, reality, reliability.

1 Timothy 2:3–4 CSB

This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

When we read this we see what it is that is being talked about the truth that we are holding on to is this knowledge that God has given us.

now the question might be what is the knowledge of truth.

John 14:6–7 CSB

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

The belt of Truth is Christ When we put on the armor of God we start with the belt for the reason of everything you do you need to start with Christ in order to win

Christ First

christ has to be the first and last thing that you do. You should start you day with Christ and he should be the last thing that you do when you are going to sleep.

Everything that we do we must focus on the thought of does this serve Christ. does this show Christ. Even in the hard times.

Not a good relationship with your parents You still have to show Christ and so them love.

you had a break up with your boyfriend/ Girlfriend you show Christ in that ( not talk about them to other people.)

fight with your friend show Christ to them

time to ask yourself do you show Christ to everyone is he the first thing that you do or do you need to come to him and ask for forgiveness so you may wear the belt of Truth.
