December 20, 2020 Jesus: The Lord of Christmas - Luke 2:11 1. The Predicted King - 2 Samuel 7:16; Daniel 7:13-14; Luke 1:32-33 2 Samuel 7:16 - 16 Your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever. Daniel 7:13-14 - 13 "I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, and He came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. 14 "And to Him was given dominion, glory and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations and men of every language might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which will not pass away; and His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed. Luke 1:32-33 - 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end. 2. The Powerful King - Psalm 2; Colossians 2:10; Ephesians 6:10-18 Psalm 2 Colossians 2:10 - 10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority. Ephesians 6:10-18 3 Ways to Honor the Lord of Christmas 1. Live for the King 2. Announce the coming of the King 3. Trust in the King Jesus is the long-awaited King who inaugurated His kingdom on earth at His first coming and will culminate His Kingdom at His second coming. Philippians 2:9-11 - 9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
