THE PURPOSE OF CHRISTMAS

SCRIPTURE: Matthew 1:18-21 * The purpose of Jesus being born was that He will save His people from their sins. What is the purpose of your birth? Matthew 1:21 * Adam and Eve were created for a purpose so every human being was also born for a purpose. Genesis 1:26-27 * Who were the people of Jesus who He came to save from their sins? They were all the world. John 1:6-12, 3:16 * Sin separated us from God. Isaiah 59:2 * Jesus came to reconcile us to God. Colossians 1:21-22 * Sin took away our dominion and enslaved us. 2 Peter 2:19 * When Christ saved us from sin He set us free from slavery to sin. Romans 6:16-18, 22 * Sin condemned us to eternal damnation but Jesus saved us from future judgment and damnation. Romans 5:9-10 * We have to receive Him once and are saved but we must stay connected to Him daily to overcome sin.
