The Tongue

In Ephesians, we only have 7 weapons. One of them is the Sword of the Spirit and sometimes, we lay down our armor and do not operate in the Spirit when we have been disabled in spiritual warfare for a long time. It is important to use all 7 weapons at all times, to really be in control of life and on top of the enemies wiles and devices that he throws at us in battle.
The Sword of the Spirit is the most important weapon that we can use. The reason why this is true is because our tongue is an enemy of our own selves and others sometimes. We bless and curse with the same mouth, the Bible says. This doesn’t mean we should be paranoid, but the Bible does also say that he who controls his words protects himself from destruction.
Speaking positive, life affirming words or saying Scriptures at people, preaching, teaching, exhorting, encouraging is what the Sword of the Spirit does. Especially carrying a Bible around in our hands to speak to others the Words of life and talk about God is important.
Speaking about the Word of God is very important because sometimes an encouraging word is uncomfortable but can be the reason why you are not fighting with someone or having a bad day.
God’s Word is all we should really speak about is the best way to use this thing called our tongue. The most violent tool the enemy has in our life is our tongue, so using the Word of God out of it is the best way to defeat him.
Affirming life, healing others, loving on anybody, being gentle or kind, is a way we can actually help ourselves. Healing others is the best way to heal yourself. Love is the crucial thing in life. Love is the chief rule in life. Love mixed with the Sword of the Spirit means you don’t bash someone over the head with the Word of God, but that instead you gently talk to them a little only about God while holding their hand to do other things that they need done for them. Being charitable while teaching God’s word is a nice thing you can do to make good memories and cherish someone throughout life. It’s best to do this with as many people as possible because you will build up an armory of friends and family that will heal you and make your life wonderful throughout as long as you and they are alive.
