Chief Priests And Scribes

these guys should have believed

They knew the scriptures and had prepared for this

Jesus was not their kind of Messiah

They were afraid of Herod

They did not receive prior confirmation

Herod

Herod was disturbed at the news

He faked interest in worshiping the child

When the Magi did not return, he went into a rage

he gave the order to kill all the young boys two years old and younger

Modern Day

Christ threatens some people today

Christ doesn’t fit our picture of the Messiah

Christ is just not that big of a deal
