This week, we are continuing in our Joy Unspeakable series with Hope! I was once again reminded of a song, which I shared this Wednesday, The Solid Rock by Edward Mote.
“My Hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness...”
Definition:
1. a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen
a person or thing that may help or save someone
2. archaic - a feeling of trust
If you couldn’t answer that question or if there were any doubts in your mind, I’d like to explore this together today.
On our bulletins you see a phrase, “Discover God’s story of Hope for your life.” This is not just something we wish we could do, it should be part of who we are. So, I would like to equip you and give you the tools to equip others today.
Matthew 12:21 NLT
21 And his name will be the hope of all the world.”
Also, in Romans 15 - The Word tells us that God is our source of Hope!
Romans 15:13 NLT
13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

My Hope is built - What foundations are you building on?

There is a parable that comes to mind -
Matthew 7:21–27 TPT
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the realm of heaven’s kingdom. It is only those who persist in doing the will of my heavenly Father. 22 On the day of judgment many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, don’t you remember us? Didn’t we prophesy in your name? Didn’t we cast out demons and do many miracles for the sake of your name?’ 23 But I will have to say to them, ‘Go away from me, you lawless rebels! I’ve never been joined to you!’ 24 “Everyone who hears my teaching and applies it to his life can be compared to a wise man who built his house on an unshakable foundation. 25 When the rains fell and the flood came, with fierce winds beating upon his house, it stood firm because of its strong foundation. 26 “But everyone who hears my teaching and does not apply it to his life can be compared to a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 When it rained and rained and the flood came, with wind and waves beating upon his house, it collapsed and was swept away.”
- Here’s a good indication of what your foundation is built on? Has your Trust has been shaken during the events of the past few months?
Jesus said do not worry about tomorrow, today has enough troubles of it’s own. Just as the Israelites had manna and quail in the desert, each and every day, so too will we be provided for DAILY.
I have some declarations that we will make together today, would you say this with me ->
Jesus, I choose to trust you each and every day

Do you have THIS HOPE - Hope in eternal life with Jesus

In Romans 8, Paul tells us we were given THIS HOPE when we were saved. Then, he says, “if we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it.”
So, what is “THIS HOPE”?
Hope -> Life in the Spirit
v6 to set our minds on the Spirit is life and peace!
We’ve been set free from the power of sin and death, no longer slaves!! Shake those shackles off in Jesus name!
Ephesians 2:8 NIV
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
Grace - unmerited/unearned favor! We’ve received favor from God through Christ!!
John 3:16 NIV
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Paul told Felix, the governor, that he had the same Hope that the Jews who were accusing him had - which was the resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous.
As Jesus went to meet with Mary and Martha after hearing about the death of His friend Lazarus, He comforted Mary -
John 11:25 NLT
25 Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.
Jesus, I receive the free gift of LIFE that you have given me by your death on the cross for my sins!

Do you have the Hope of sonship?

Co-heirs through our Union with Christ
Hope -> We are heirs with Christ
Romans 8:15–17 TPT
15 And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!” 16 For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!” 17 And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings as our own.
I need you to see that and reread it if needed. This is not “duty”, we don’t earn any of this. As we’ve studied on Wednesday evenings, this is not a Jesus + anything else gospel!
Jesus, I chose to partner with you to do the will of the Father on this earth. Help me to be your hands and feet.
Father, I believe that You love me with the same love that You have for Jesus.
1 Peter 1:2 TPT
2 You are not forgotten, for you have been chosen and destined by Father God. The Holy Spirit has set you apart to be God’s holy ones, obedient followers of Jesus Christ who have been gloriously sprinkled with his blood. May God’s delightful grace and peace cascade over you many times over!
You have been chosen by Him, for His purposes, set apart!
Do you have the ->

Hope of Future Glory & Everlasting Love

Last week, I asked if you’ve experienced the Harvest of Love from the Holy Spirit in your lives?
A byproduct of love the Holy Spirit produces is faith that prevails!
Galatians 5:5 ESV
5 For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.
Hebrews 11 tells us that faith is the assurance of things hoped for!
Hebrews 10:23 TPT
23 So now we must cling tightly to the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always keeps his promises!
If we desire a faith that prevails over the works of the enemy, we must believe the Words of Jesus. Are you speaking life?
Galatians 5:22–23 TPT
22 But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit. Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.
Prevails over what or whom? The accuser!
Revelation 12:11–12 NKJV
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”
Holy Spirit, would you work in me and through me to produce this harvest of Love and I pray that people would see You at work in me. It is my desire that your name would be lifted high in my life.
I believe, by the power of the Holy Spirit within me that I am an overcomer.
