Title: The Finality of Eternity - Part I
Theme: Final Judgment
Proposition: Anyone whose name is not found in the Book of Life will stand before God
__________________________________________________________
Will you be standing at the Great White Throne Judgment?
Hebrews 9:27 It is appointed unto men once to die and after this the judgment
Notice three actions that take place here in the final court of God
1. Everything fled - v. 11
2. Everyone judged - vv. 12-13
3. No one escapes - vv. 14-15
__________________________________________________________

1. Everything fled - v. 11

• Description of the throne

It’s great - Greek word megas = mega meaning “huge”
It’s white - Greek word leukos = brilliant purity

• Decision of the judge

Good questions leading to who is on the throne.
Daniel 7:9 NKJV
“I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire;
John 5:22 NKJV
For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,
John 5:26–27 NKJV
For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.
Acts 10:42 NKJV
And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead.
Acts 17:30–31 NKJV
Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
Romans 2:15–16 NKJV
who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.

• Destruction of the earth

Greek word pheugo = fled meaning to “cease to exist”
2 Peter 3:10 NKJV
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
Matthew 12:41–42 NKJV
The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.

2. Everyone judged - vv. 12-13

• Defendants summoned - v. 12 small and great

Good use of story of judge and the barking dog (lightened the serious in an appropriate way)
Good use of the small in the list by using categories
Good use of the great by mentioning notable “greats”
- Unrepentant summoned
- Religious summoned
Hebrews 10:31 NKJV
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Matthew 7:21–23 NKJV
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

• Indictment revealed - v. 12

Psalm 19:9 NKJV
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
Colossians 2:14 NKJV
having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
Romans 10:9 NKJV
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
You need to be more clearer up to the “settle out of court”
Went long…cut in half.
Are you ready to meet God?
