Part 3: Meek Souls Seek Him
John 3:23-30
1.) Two Radically Different Stories Are Found in John’s Gospel.
- Nicodemus is a Jewish leader. (John 3:1-21)
- The Samaritan woman is an outsider. (John 4:1-42)
2.) Between Their Stories is John the Baptist and His Disciples.
- The Baptist declares, "He must become greater; I must become less.” (John 3:30)
- Yet, John’s own disciples missed Christ's coming. (John 3:26)
Just like the woman and the Pharisee, John and his disciples have different reactions to Jesus’ message of new life.
- Could the key to receiving Christ be humility?
