He left the splendor of heaven Knowing His destiny Was the lonely hill of Golgotha There to lay down His life for me
And if that isn't love Then the ocean is dry There's no stars in the sky And the little sparrows can't fly Yeah if that isn't love Then heaven's a myth There's no feeling like this If that isn't love
God's Amazing Love for a Wretch like Me
based on who he is not who I am.
Romans chapter 6. A very familiar verse. Sometimes I think I don't have anything new to give. But really it's all the word of God that's been here for over two thousand years. And it's wonderful how it can still be old and new and exciting and refreshing all at the same time.
Romans 6 verse 23 a negative and a positive side to this verse. But really it's a serious side and one that can bring peace. One is a sovereign declaration and one that is a Divine promise.
Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The wages of sin is death. That is a sovereign declaration that cannot be changed. The wages the cost the punishment the result of sin is death always has been always will be.
Since the garden that has been the result of sin. What a serious thing.
I'm glad that's not the end of it not the end of the story. Thank God for Heavenly conjunction. But.
What a mess we would all be in except for that little word.
Gift of God: Is eternal lifewho/by how/what through Jesus Christ Our Lord.
This is the time of year where everybody is concerned about giving gifts. This is the greatest gift ever given to man. This precious gift from God eternal life.
I think if we're honest almost all of us love getting gifts. And giving them.
The Book of Romans magnifies man's greatest need. Throughout those first few chapters, it talks about the state of man. But I'm so glad it also magnifies God's greatest gift. I'm so thankful that God's greatest gift is so much greater so much more powerful than man's need.
What is man's greatest need? Chapter 1 starts out and shows us the state of man. Lowdown depraved so wretched that they were reprobates. They were beyond the point of even being convicted of their sinful nature.
It seems like today that people are so captured by sin so enthralled so excited even buy it they love it and it seems like they are Beyond reproof of their sin. They're not even ashamed of it anymore.
I don't even know if we can comprehend how far man can go outside of the grace of God.
Chapter three assures us that all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God. It doesn't leave anyone out.
Chapter 5 tells us that the judgment and the wrath of God is upon all of us. Because all have sinned.
And then we come to chapter 6 and it tells us the wages of sin is death. There is mankind hung out over Hell Without hope without remedy. But then we get to the latter part of that verse.
But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord hallelujah.

Heavenly Conjunction But

But Noah found Grace in the eyes of the Lord.
We were dead in our trespasses and sins but God who is rich in Mercy with his great love has he loved us.
The remedy for every soul today is that Heavenly conjunction but God
God gave us that baby in the manger.
God Gave him to Mary.
Mary wrapped him and
we were able to receive him that day where he came and dwelt and took up residence in our hearts and in our life.
No wonder Paul said to the church at Corinth thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
Do you know what makes salvation so great? It's the God that it comes from.
What would cause such a holy omnipotent Sovereign powerful God to ever gives a Wretched Man such a gift?
Can I take you over to the most familiar verse and scripture over there in John chapter 3 verse 16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
This is the motive the basis for why God gave such a great gift to such a wretched people.
That little word so loved may be small but it's big. It means to the extent of it not only includes how much but how much more. Follow that little word so Through the Bible.
So great a God not just great but to the extent of being even greater.
The Bible says how shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation.
How can you measure a love like that? So loved the world. That he gave his only son.
The greatest thing you will ever hear is that God loves you. You say well I don't deserve it. Well take a number and stand in line, not one soul is ever deserves the love of God.
He even loves that family member that you have trouble tolerating.
You can't do enough to get God to stop loving you.
Could we with ink the ocean fill,   And were the skies of parchment made; Were every stalk on earth a quill,   And every man a scribe by trade; To write the love of God above   Would drain the ocean dry; Nor could the scroll contain the whole,   Though stretched from sky to sky.
O love of God, how rich and pure!   How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure—     The saints’ and angels’ song.
His love is deeper than the ocean and higher than the mountains and wider than the sea. It's deeper than your sin greater than your stain it's greater than your past.
The holy Sovereign Love of God that he demonstrated on Calvary
Romans 5:8 KJV 1900
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Revelation 1:5 KJV 1900
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
he loves us this morning he cares about us this morning that's why he was born in a manger lived a sinless life died on a Rugged Cross and rose again the third day ascended into heaven and is now interceding for you and me.
He loves us he cares for us that's the motive of this wonderful gift.
I am so glad that our Father in heav’n Tells of His love in the Book He has giv’n; Wonderful things in the Bible I see: This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.
The psalmist said I have been young and I have been old but I've never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging for bread.
God gave this gift out of a Heart of Love he was born of a virgin because he loved us and that blood had to be spotless undefiled without blemish without the curse of sin upon it.
He let you live long enough to hear the gospel message today because he loves you. The motive of this wonderful gift is God's great love.
Let me tell you something this morning if you die without God and go into a Christless eternity and a devil's hell you will have to Stampede trample over the wonderful matchless sacrificed blood of his son that he said that he gave for you because he loves you.
You remember the game as a child taking the flower and pulling off the petals one at a time she loves me she loves me not? You don't have to do that one time when considering the love of God there is no he loves me not. He Loves Me Jesus loves me that's why he went to Calvary that's why he shed his blood that's why he gave up The Ghost and cried it is finished. Because he loves you.
You won't have to pull petals off the rose of Sharon or the lily of the valley know beyond the shadow of a doubt he loves you.
The motive of the gift God's love.
Number two and I must hurry it's the magnitude of the gift.
Eternal life. That is big. That is huge Beyond Comprehension. Don't ask me to explain eternal life I can't do it.
The gift cannot be greater than The Giver. You might have it in your heart to give your spouse your family the world. But you don't have it within your means to do that. But God has it within his Limitless means his infinite power to give us eternal life. That's the magnitude of this gift.
When this one named Jesus gives a gift he gives one that this world cannot give you. He gives one that this world only desires for Longs for. But he has the means and the power to do it.
He is eternal he is Sovereign omnipotent faithful when God gave the gift he gave the best there was because he gave himself.
Forgiveness Redemption peace Joy and a relationship with the God of Heaven. I believe sometimes we get our mind so fascinated or fixed on the future benefits and blessings of our Salvation what eternity is going to be like that we forget the current wonderful blessings that God gives when he saves us.
Don't worry about letting the glory roll When the Roll is called in glory. Shout now because of the journey. Shout now because of the blessings and all that you can enjoy on your way.
The relationship that we have with him should mean so much to us. When the world can’t understand and doesn't know what to do he does. When the world is not there for you he is. He is there all the time. We are preaching about one who has no limit no measure the magnitude of his love is eternal life we're going to live forever because God lives forever.
The gift of God is eternal life. What I'm trying to tell you is that you can have a relationship with God down here with all the peace Joy love Mercy Grace tenderness that he gives. And you can have a future home and Heaven because of this eternal life.
The motives and the magnitude.
When the grass withers and the flower fades away and there's nothing left this old world you and I will be safe forever in the new Heaven and the new Earth and the land of life the land of eternal life. A land of glory where the presence of God is our light.
In closing this morning I want you to see the Mandate of God's gift. You know there is a mandate to this gift.
There is something that has to be done when you are confronted with the gospel with the possibility of this gift.
You will either accept or reject this gift.
We spend all the time wrapping the gifts trying to make them look pretty and the people receiving them aren't really concerned about that. They want to know does it have my name on it is it for me? There was a gift-wrapped at Calvary and grace and mercy and love. It was wrapped in swaddling clothes then wrapped in grave clothes but it didn't stay there. And it has your name on it.
The tag on the gift says whosoever will. But it can only become yours as you reach out to Christ and accept the wonderful gift the gift of salvation the gift of eternal life.
People out there saying when Jesus said father forgive them for they know not what they do that he forgave everybody. Any preacher or Bible teacher that was about that nonsense hell is going to be very hot for them and for everyone that believes them.
It's a personal gift that has to be personally accepted.
The greatest gift that you will ever reach out and receive is the gift of God which is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord.
It's also the greatest gift that people are rejecting on a daily basis.
Most of us will receive gifts this upcoming Christmas season. But it won't be too long and those gifts will rust or ruin or fade away be forgotten or lost. Let this is the gift that never lessons never loses its value never Fades away or goes out of style it is the gift of Eternity with God.
I don't ever want to return it I trust you won't either. And it has Beyond a lifetime guarantee. It is eternity forever and ever.
Eternal life I'm so glad that I received it. The question is, have you? If you haven't let this be the greatest Christmas you will ever have.
It's a gift that you should be excited about receiving. And when you're excited about something you'll tell others about it. And this is a gift that when you tell others or give to others it just keeps on giving and it keeps on getting better.
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord.
