Children of Israel had just escaped Egypt after being in slavery for hundreds of years.  God had miraculously

Leviticus 1-7 is all about the different kinds of offering that God was commanding the nation of Israel to observe.

Leviticus 8 is all about Aaron and his sons being set apart for their duty as priests.  Everything down to their underwear was prescribed for them to wear.  Everything was to be pure! 

Leviticus 9 - Here we see the whole nation gathered in front of the tabernacle to see the inauguration of a new order.

            v. 5 – the whole nation (perhaps two million people!) gathered before the tabernacle.

            vv. 6-21 – the process of sacrifice.

            v. 22-24 – the Israelites now have a new way to worship
