Introduction

Let’s Get Started

Chapter 6 described the opening of the first six seals, but it ended before reaching the seventh seal.

Chapter 7 covered the sealing of the 144,000 but, likewise, failed to mention the seventh seal.

It is not until chapter 8 that we learn about this final seal.

The opening of the seventh seal reveals the appearance of seven angels with seven trumpets

Note the pattern being established. The seven seals were broken down into two sets:

the four horsemen followed by three additional judgments.

Likewise, the seven trumpets will be broken down into two sets: four judgments called “one-third” judgments

followed by three judgments called “woes.”

After one-half hour of silence in heaven, these judgments will take place on the earth.

The Seventh Seal

Revelation 8:1 NKJV

1 When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.

When this seal is broken, the scroll will be completely open. (Show Slide)

Nothing will remain to restrain the carrying out of the remaining judgments.

Before they can begin, though, there will be silence in heaven for about a half hour.

The flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder coming from the throne of God will cease.

The four living creatures will cease their talk about the holiness of God.

The twenty-four elders will suspend their declarations about the worthiness of the Lamb.

The heavenly hosts will stop their singing,

and the Tribulation Saints will cease their praise.

An eerie, foreboding silence will move across heaven.

Everyone will wait in anticipation of what is to come next. Will people be given time to repent?

Will God destroy the earth? Something will be on the horizon—something of tremendous importance.

Revelation 8:2 NKJV

2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets.

The Tribulation Period carries many names:

the Time of Jacob’s Trouble*,

the Seventieth Week of Daniel*,

and the Day of the Lord’s Vengeance*.

The prophet Zephaniah gives it seven different names,

It’s significant to notice that the last one is "a day of trumpet and alarm" (Zephaniah 1:14-16 NKJV).

Out of all the angels in heaven,

only seven particular angels constantly stand in the presence of God.

They are commonly known as archangels,

Some call them the Angels of the Presence.

The 1611 King James Version of the Bible identifies only two, Michael* and Gabriel*,

but the Apocrypha—noncanonical books that are usually omitted from Protestant Bibles—identifies the other five

as Uriel, Raphael, Raguel, Remiel, and Sariel.

These seven archangels,

who make announcements of great significance,

will each be handed a trumpet on this day of trumpet and battle cry.

William Barclay - That they were called the angels of the presence means two things. First, it means that they enjoyed a special honour. In an oriental court it was only the most favoured courtiers who had the right at all times to the presence of the king. To be a courtier or a counsellor of the presence was a very special honour. Second, there was more than honour here. Although to be in the presence of the king meant special honour, even more it meant immediate readiness to be dispatched on service.

Salvation

This morning there may be someone here that God is getting you ready for a special honor.

In order to accomplish receiving special honor from the Lord, you first need to be born again.

As we have been studying the book of Revelation. When the rapture comes, Many people will be left behind

if you do not know Jesus as your personal savior, God is giving you a special opportunity to Stand before His presence and receive special Honor.

You may be asking yourself how can I be born again, and receive special honor?

Christ Witnesses to Nicodemus

John 3:1–3 NKJV

1 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 3:16 NKJV

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

As we bow our heads:

1. Lord I believe that Jesus is the son of God, and that He died On the cross for my sins and His resurrection from the dead gives me eternal life. I asked forgiveness of my sins, and I Except Jesus as my Lord and Savior. In his name I Pray, amen.

I want to take a few moments to give you the opportunity to ask forgiveness of any sin in your life.

Let us pray over the elements (Cross Exposed) in the name of the father, the son, and the Holy Ghost

Read first Corinthians 11:23- 26 - (Taking the elements together)

23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;

24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
