Declaration of Intent:
Michael Muncey will you take Sydney Guadarrama to be your wedded wife, to live together after God’s ordinance in holy matrimony? Will you love her as Christ Loved the Church and gave himself for Her, to comfort her, to honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, keeping yourself only for her, so long as you both shall live?
Michael says: I Do!
Sydney Guadarrama will you take Michael Muncey to be your wedded husband, to live together after God’s ordinance in holy matrimony? Will you love him, submit to him, comfort, honor and keep him, in sickness and health, and forsaking all others, keeping yourself only for him, so long as you both shall live?
Sydney says: I Do!
Scripture Reading:

4 Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, 5 is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. 6 Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never ends.

Ring Ceremony: As a token of this covenant, you will now give and receive the wedding rings. The unbroken circle, the emblem of eternity, and the gold, the emblem of that which is least tarnished and most enduring,
are to show how lasting is the pledge you have made to the other.
Pray - Lord, Bless Micheal and Sydney. As they wear these rings, let them be a constant reminder of the covenant they have made with you and with each other. Continue to bless their marriage all their days. Amen.
Give Sydney’s ring to Michael. Put it on the end of the finger and repeat after me.
With this ring, I thee wed, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Repeat process for Sydney.

Planting a Tree:
Michael and Sydney will now take part in a Tree Planting Ceremony, to symbolize the roots of their relationship, and the continued growth of their love, as they become each others family today.
Love is the essence of human experience and emotion. It is the root of all and everything we, as humans, do. Love enriches our experience, and fills our lives with meaning. It gives us a firm base from which to grow, to learn, and change.
Let your relationship and your love for each other be like this tree you plant today. Let it grow tall and strong. Let it stand tall during the harsh winds and rains and storms, and come through unscathed. Like a tree, your marriage must be resilient. It must weather the challenges of daily life and the passage of time. And just like the tree you are planting, marriage requires constant nurturing and nourishment.
Options..........................
The soil represents their families. The Muncey’s and the Guadarrama’s have provided instruction, discipline, structure and love. Michael and Sydney have witnessed how to face life’s struggles. This soil provides stability for the roots and nutrients needed for growth. If the soil was not tight, it would not support the weight of a mighty tree. Michael and Sydney will be drawing wisdom and stability from their family the remainder of their lives.
The seed is the start of a new life. In the right conditions, this seed will grow into a mighty tree. Through time, it will grow strong, it will weather many storms and will be pruned from time to time. It will eventually produce seeds in the likeness of the tree. The tree will provide shade and comfort to others. Like many trees, this marriage will appear different as the seasons of life change. They are committed to growth in those seasons.
The water is the blessing of the Lord. Without it, the seed will not sprout. It will not push through the soil and be independent. Without the Lord, it will wither, it will die. The largest trees grow on the edge of the water source. Michael and Sydney have vowed to grow roots by the source and for God to be their refreshment and delight.
As the years pass, they will look upon this tree. It will be a reminder of those things they hold dear : their family, each other, and Lord. May their marriage be more majestic than the Redwoods.
_____________________________________________________________________
Pronouncement: For as much as Michael and Sydney have consented together in holy wedlock, and have witnessed the same before God and this congregation, and in so doing have given and pledged their vows to each other, and have declared the same by the giving and receiving of a ring, I pronounce them man and wife together, in the Name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Those whom God has joined together let no one put asunder.
_____________________________________________________________________
Prayer: Oh God, who has so consecrated the state of marriage that in it is represented the spiritual marriage and unity between Christ and His church: Look mercifully upon Your cherished servants. May they love, honor and cherish each other, and so living together in faithfulness and patience, in wisdom and true godliness, that their home may be a haven of blessing and of peace. We pray this through Jesus Christ, our Lord Amen.
