Need

We all have needs - food, clothing, shelter - money, friendships, relationships;
The thing is our needs seem to change with our situations in life;
What are you needs this morning, what are you looking for today;
Did you know that Jesus had a need and it was one that surprised His disciples (followers) because of the location look at v. 4;
Now to understand this verse you have to understand the time - Jews did not like the Samaritans - they felt they were unworthy of God and His blessings;
Do you feel unworthy of God today, do you feel that God, or His people, do not want anything to do with you because of who you are or what you have done;
If so please pay close attention today;

Refreshing

Have you ever had water from a spring well, no not in a bottle, but the well itself;
It is cool and refreshing, the taste is unbelievable and satisfying;
Water is needed for life, without water you will die;
Based on a quick search I found this - a person could go 1 - 2 months without food - but only 3 days without water;
Water is a life saver - isn’t it interesting that Jesus is the source of living water - let’s look a v. 10;
Are you in need of being refreshed today?

Problems

How often to we present problems about our situations in stead of seeking solutions;
Notice the responses of this woman - you shouldn’t talk to me because of my history, you don’t have anything to draw water with so how do You have this water, I don’t have a husband, well we aren’t welcome in Jerusalem;
People tend to focus more on the problem or just ignore it all together, neither of these approaches will work and could make things worse;
How about if you could look differently at your problems because of Who you look at them with.

Revealing

Let’s look at v.25 for a moment;
This woman is looking, along with many other, for the Messiah - the One sent from God - to be rescued;
Jesus reveals to her that He is the Messiah;
And what He wants to reveal to you today is your need to be rescued - but will you take His living water.
