Restart

People regularly look for a restart in all kinds of things;
Yet the greatest restart we could ever create is fleeting when compared to our restart with Christ,
Here we see Paul explaining how everyone has access to the ultimate restart - Christ crucified;
Paul tells the Church at Galatia how he, not physically, died to his old ways;
Paul knows about a restart - remember his name was Saul - he was a lawyer, a Pharisee of Pharisees - he felt he was doing God’s work by stopping “The Way”, followers of Christ - he arrested people that were jailed and sometime killed;
Then Saul was met by Jesus on the Damascus Road - his life, to include his name, was changed;
His restart made him a follower of Christ and church planter throughout the region.

Beginning

Every restart has to have a beginning and Paul knew it all started at the cross;
To have a new beginning we have to know where we are starting at - so let’s look at Romans 3:23;
Ephesians 4:22 says - “22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,”
The New King James Version. (1982). (Eph 4:22). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.
Repentance has to come out of acknowledgement - if we don’t acknowledge our sin we will never see a need for a new life;

Paul’s understanding of union with Christ begins with the cross of Christ. This enables Paul to endure shame, contempt, and false accusations like Jesus, God’s Suffering Servant

If you are tired of who are get this having faith in Jesus Christ can transform your life from being tied to sin to being saved by grace.

Purpose

God has a purpose for Jesus’ death on the cross - that purpose has never changed nor weakened;
Salvation and restoration are the purpose in Galatians 1:4-5 it says - 4 who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
The New King James Version. (1982). (Ga 1:4–5). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.
You may think you are unlovable, unwanted, and unchangeable but I want you are loved, wanted, and able to change because of the one that gave Himself for you;
But why did He, God, send His Son (Himself in flesh) to die for a sinner;
Let’s let the Bible say why - turn to John 3:16 - 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
The New King James Version. (1982). (Jn 3:16). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.
Now you may be thinking - I don’t understand - that’s alright because the first person to hear these words was well educated and honored Rabbi and he didn’t get it either;
There is a lot of things we don’t understand but we trust them because we see them work;
You are the purpose of God’s sacrifice His grace of salvation is His undeserving gift.
