Psalm 107:1–2 NKJV
1 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,

1. in a week and a half we will celebrate thanksgiving in this country.

Many People find this time of year difficult because they fall victim to comparison. I have fallen to comparison many times.
for me, what I have found that when I compare where I think I am to where I think other people are i find my joy is zapped.
Philippians 4:10–13 (NKJV)
10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity.
11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:
12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
what the apostle Paul is saying here is, I have learned to be content with where I am in God.
I cant say that I am so great at being content in christ: on one hand there is the God given drive to grow and succeed, on the other hand we all need to rest our hearts, rest our heads and rest our souls.
The Picture: Please wait until I ask for it.

2. your Probably doing better than you think! (even of you are not doing better than you think, Christ is doing more for you then you realist).

Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
God is faithful. it doesn’t matter where you are right now. God is going to work out His will for your life.

. 12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

We did not mess up our lives all at once, we will not be able put it back together overnight.
i Know we feel like we messed up and we want to hurry and catch up; my experience is that when we get in a hurry to catch up, we get messed up.

lets talk about the painting

the scene never happened.
they are not a family.
they are Norman Rockwell's neighbors.
it captures an Ideal, not a reality.
sometimes we are trying to get to a place that never existed.
The Lord God all mighty is working on the stuff you are worried about. get your hands and as much as possible.
Psalm 68:6 NKJV
6 God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

3. We may not be the family you want, but we are the family you have :)

in my estimation the fact that you may not want us makes us real family .
Father God uses the body of Christ to minister to our needs and uses us to minister to them
