Psalm 92:12-15 Psalm 92:12–15 (MEV) The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13 Those that are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be filled with vitality and foliage, 15 to show that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. 12 Victorious living – even in the face of adversity – is a theme for God’s people that runs through every verse in the Bible. Psalm 92:12–15 (MEV) The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13 Those that are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be filled with vitality and foliage, 15 to show that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. 12 The Hebrew word there that is translated as “flourish” is pa-rah. It means to blossom, to bud, to break forth, to spring up, and to flourish. So the Holy Spirit is saying that the righteous – the children of the Living God, who are planted firmly in His house – shall spring up, blossom, and flourish in HIM, no matter what! Turn to Psalm 72:7 Psalm 72:7 (MEV) In his days may the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace until the moon is no more. 7 Psalm 72:7 uses the same word to tell us we will continue to flourish and be in abundant peace until the moon is no more. Now look at Isaiah 66:14. Isaiah 66:14 (MEV) Then you shall see this, and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb; and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward His servants ... 14 Turn to Isaiah 35:1-2 Isaiah 35:1–2a (MEV) The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; 2 it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing. 1 Even in isolation – the solitary place of the desert wilderness – God’s children will blossom (pa-rah) as a rose and even blossom abundantly, as we live and move and have our being in HIM (Cf. Acts 17:28). So the WORD for today and everyday in Christ Jesus is: V I C T O R Y Victory, no matter what the circumstance, even in adversity or isolation, we remain victorious overcomers in Christ! May Jesus Christ bless you today and fill your heart with a song of Victory!
