Text: Genesis 3:1–5 (KJV 1900)
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
* In our passage this morning we see the beginning of the fall of mankind from his position of perfection and fellowship with God in Garden of Eden.
* Satan was jealous of what God had done, and the love that God had bestowed upon mankind. Satan wanted to destroy and subvert all the God had done, so he carried out an evil plan to destroy all of God’s creation.
* Satan knew right where to attack Eve, and so He attacked Even at the most critical point in here existence- Her faith in God’s Word.
* I want you to notice with me the emphasis that the very beginning of the book of Genesis has placed on the Word of God:
Genesis 1:1–5 (KJV 1900)
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
* Now all of a sudden old Slewfoot, Satan, Lucifer, the Devil, the deceiver, the father of all lies comes to Eve and says “Yea hath God said?”- “Did God really say?”
*At this very instance the Devil released his diabolical plan to destroy God’s relationship with his beloved mankind! The Devil taught mankind to doubt what God had said! Listen to how this goes down:
Genesis 3:4–5 (KJV 1900)
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
* The Devil called God a liar!
* Jesus referred to this very instance when He encountered the religious rulers of his day who refused to believe the Word of God in His day. Jesus refers to this first lie that was ever told in all the universe that day in the Garden with Eve. Speaking to the religious rulers in John 8:43 Jesus said:

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. 46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
* From that day in the Garden of Eden until now, Satan has set up his preachers and prophets who are continually are telling people “God didn’t really mean what He said, let me tell you what God “really” meant to say!
2 Corinthians 11:13–15 (KJV 1900)
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
* Around 300 years after the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, the false church began to rule the world. From around 300 AD to around 1700 AD.
* During the time of the reign of the Catholic church over the nations of this earth, for a period of over 1,400 years, Satan’s prophets and priests, along with Satan’s accomplice, the Pope, one who in their own words. “Stands in place of Christ,” (that’s what the term anti-Christ means), kept the Bible from the people of the earth.
* The earth had been without the true Word of God for the majority of History since Jesus was crucified!
* Historians call this time of history the “Dark ages.” Men lived in darkness and superstition under the rule of the Roman Catholic church, the light of the Word of God was stamped out and dimmed by Satan’s preachers and priests!
John 1:1–5 (KJV 1900)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
* During the time of the Dark Ages, only the Catholic Priest were allowed to handle the World of God, the Bible!
* The common man was not allowed to read the Bible, and only the Catholic priests were allowed to interpret what the words of the Bible meant!
* During this time the services of the Churches were held in the Latin languages, and the only Bible the people heard was what the Priests’ interpretation of what the Latin Scriptures said.
* Then, and now, it is the position of the Catholic Church that the writings and mandates of the Catholic Church are more authoritative than the Bible!
* At the beginning of the 17th century, God began to open the eyes of the people of Europe and began to risk their lives to get the true Word of God in the hands of the common people.
* During the reign of the Roman Catholic church over 50 million people died by torture, beheading, burning, being flayed alive, boiled in oil- every conceivable way of killing, for standing for the true, unadulterated Word of God!
* In the book of Revelation we see the false church, the Whore of the book of Revelation, drunk with the blood of the saints of God:

And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither;
I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: 2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls,
having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus:
and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. 7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit,
and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
* After the reformation of the 17th century, and the translation of the Bible into the languages of the common man, there arose churches and denominations that began to preach the true Word of God, and the light of the Gospel was proclaimed freely and openly in Europe and America.
* I believe we see a prophetic mention of this by Jesus in the Revelation Chapter 3:
Revelation 3:7–11 (KJV 1900)
7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith
he that is holy, he that is true,
* This is in contrast to the false church, which was unholy and not true!
he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; 8 I know thy works:
behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
* This is that great reformation which began as a result of the men translating the Bible into languages they could understand!
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not,
* The immediate recipients of this of this letter is to those Christians who were being persecuted by the rulers of the Jews, but the prophetic recipients of this letter are those in the future who would be persecuted by the “False Church,” the Roman Catholic Church.
but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
* Jesus here promises those who since the reformation, and the rescuing of the Bible from the false church, that because they were faithful to the World of God, they would be spared the great tribulation period of the Books of Daniel and Revelation that is going to take place in their day.
* This is a direct reference to Jesus taking the church out before the final judgment falls upon the world. We call his the rapture, or the “snatching away” of the church.
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
* Now I want you to see something about he Book of Revelation:
* I have already shown you this morning the preeminence of the Word of God in the opening of the book of Genesis, but now I would like to call your attention to the preeminence of the Word of God in the book of Revelation:
* The book of Revelation opens with the promise that God will bless the person that reads the words of this book and keeps what it says:

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: 2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Revelation 1:9 (KJV 1900)
9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 3:8 (KJV 1900)
8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
* The book of Revelations ends with a curse upon anyone who attempts to add to or take away from the words of this book:

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

* Now, because of the importance of the Doctrine of the Scriptures, we will not be able to finish this message in one sitting. This has been an introduction to the Doctrine of the Scriptures, but I leave you with one basic thought this morning.
* Satan has not altered his plan to destroy God’s creation, and God’s relationship with His prized creation, man.
* Just as Satan defeated Eve in the Garden, Just as Satan deceived the religious rulers of Jesus’ day, Even so now Satan continues on the same plan.
* In the day and time in which we live The Devil is out to destroy you!
* How is the Devil out to destroy you?
* By the same way he destroyed Eve in the Garden! – by causing you to doubt the Word of God!

* Satan’s preachers and prophets cry out to men in our day “God didn’t really meant that He created the heavens and the earth in 6 literal 24 hour days, what He really meant was that through 6 really great ages, consisting of billions of years, evolution created the heavens and the earth!
* Liar! Liar! Devil you are a liar! That is not what God said! You are a liar from the beginning and the father of all lies!
* Satan, your religious sounding preachers, and teaches, and professors are all liars! That’s not what God said!
* I want you to see this morning that Satan has a plan to cause you to doubt the Bible is the World of God! I want to expose his diabolical plan!
* Satan has altered this method a little from using the Catholic Church to alter the word of God, to a new method of deception.
* When the true church of God was set on fire by the Holy Spirit to renew the light of God’s Word in the world Satan changed this method of deception slightly.
* Satan has reverted back to the same method that he used with Eve in the Garden- Satan is in the process of putting into the collective mind of mankind that God’s Words are not true!
* Satan is attacking mankind with the doctrine of Humanism! That ungodly, lying deception of the New Age Movement that deceivers like Ophera Winfery and other like here are proclaiming!
* Satan would have you believe that you are wiser that God’s Word this morning! The Devil would have you believe that man can sit I judgment on God’s Word this morning with your self-righteous, pompous, ungodly, Satan inspired, attitude of political correctness!
* Satan would have you believe that you are more righteous that God’s Holy Word that calls homosexually a exceeding wicked and perverse sin!
* Satan would have you to believe that you are more righteous than God’s Word, that condemns the taking of innocent life through abortion!
* Satan would have you to believe the lie that government has the right to make laws that sit in judgment on the World of God!
* – civil liberty laws that declare that what the Word of God has condemned as gross immorality is be “Normal” and “good” and “wholesome,” and a right bestowed upon you and protected by the government!
* Satan would have you to believe the lie that whatever the wicked, ungodly Satan controlled, media outlets portray is the standard of truth! Liars! Liars! Liars!
* The Satan controlled media outlets of television, radio, and the deceived masses on facebook that you listen to on a daily basis that deny the Word of God, are all deceived and duped by the Devil, who would have them believe that they have the right to determine what is right and wrong!
* The only standard of truth and righteousness in the universe is the unchanging and unfailing Word of God, The Bible!
* The standard of truth this morning is not is not man’s self-righteous or set or moral standards that we refer to as political correctness! The only standard of truth is the eternal, Word of God!
I.The Bible claims to be the Word of God.
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV 1900)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
John 17:16–17 (KJV 1900)
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
2 Timothy 3:15–17 (KJV 1900)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
* The words in the underlying Greek language carry the meaning that All Scripture “God Breathed,” or breathed out by God! Spoken by God!
* In these verses we see undeniable claims the Bible makes about itself:
1). Jesus said the Bible is the truth.
2). Paul said the Bible is breathed out from God.
2 Peter 1:20–21 (KJV 1900)
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
* The world “moved” here carrier the meaning that these men were “moved along” like a ship is moved along across the water as the wind fills its sails.
* There are some of Satan’s preachers and prophets that teach the Bible had human authors and that because of this it contains mistakes, and errors. Liar! Liar! Satan you and your false messengers are Liars!
* The Bible claims to be the very breathed out “Words of God, without error, without mistake, the only standard of truth and righteousness in the entire universe!
Conclusion:
* You many sit here this morning thinking that you believe the Bible. I ask you to re-examine yourself.
* Jesus said:

46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? 47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
* If you believe the Bible is the true Word of God, then why do you continue to refuse to do that the Bible says!
* To the person who has never come to Jesus for salvation- If you really believe the Bible says that there is a real, burning place called Hell, where people go who are not saved, then why are you not running down this isle to be saved!
