16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.
DT: When we walk in humility we do so with al people from all walks of life without seeking to be celebrated.
AIM: We will seek to live in harmony with all people by being humble.

INTRODUCTION:

Humility - is the ability to exalt others with complete confidence and security of the work of Christ in our life. It is the ability to allow others to know their significance without being resentful or anger. It is to be grateful for who God has made you without embarrassing other people. It is sharing the gifts of God without needing to be noticed or celebrated for it.
Transition: A life of humility is a distinction that each disciple must exhibit. What does that look like? Our text today gives us an idea of what it means to live with humility. The first thing we find is our necessity to consider other people.

Humility Requires Us to Consider Others Romans 12:16a

Romans 12:16a ESV
16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.
Humility has a great deal to do with how we are able to work with other people. We show we are humble when we do not make everything about ourselves. We work in concert with people.
Harmony- means to be in sync, on one accord. It means to be in agreement
Paul teaches his readers that they must consider those who are from differing backgrounds and thoughts to come together in agreement with one another daily. He says live in agreement with each other. This is not saying that we condone sins but it does mean that we are not mean and cold-hearted towards other people.
Their unity is based on their common understanding of God’s way of seeing things.
