We talk about P.O.W.'s and M.I.A.'s and Soldiers of War that were left in foreign countries after our wars with them.
Many of us have spoken before of how our government has treated those that were still stuck on foreign soil.
How they done nothing to help bring them back.
Matter of fact, every war the U.S. has fought in the 20th century there were people left to forget about.
The World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, etc.
Vietnam = 2,000...Korean War = 5,000 - 8,000...Cold War = 1,000...World War II = 15,000 - 20,000
Don't get me wrong, our military has gone to great lengths in the past to retrieve soldiers left on foreign soil.
Some were successful...Others not so much.
Matte of fact the military motto is, "Leave no one behind"
The U.S. has undergone some risky missions to retrieve our soldiers of war.
So, my question today is this; How far would you go to rescue a fallen brother or sister?
Now I want to ask this; How far would God go?
Well, thing is that the bible gives us the answer to the second question.
Here's the thing, we all know that for those who do not know Jesus Christ as there personal savior will be left behind. I mean they'll go to hell.
And in truth it is our job to see that this doesn't happen.
The bible says, 2 Peter 3:9: "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
So how far would God ?
John 3:16-17: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
I would say, that is just about as far as anyone could imagine.
God's intention is that no one gets left behind.
God also intends for us to react the same way.
It is our mission to carry God's word to the ends of the earth, so that all may hear and can make a choice for themselves.
The bible says, Matthew 28:19-20: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
Mark 16:15: "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
So, the word is clear that God wants no one to be left behind.
It is clear that God wants us to see to it that no one is left behind. (Although, it also tells us there will be)
If you think that the numbers I gave you before about how many POW's were left behind are a lot, then the number of souls left behind after Jesus returns will be astranomical.
We should live our lives daily for Christ, take on His mindset.
Having the attitude to:
"Leave no one behind, no matter the cost."
