The Walk
Colossians 2:6–7 —Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
Action Plan
Begin each day by reading a chapter of Colossians.
Ask God to impress a lesson upon your heart.
Ask Him also to enable you to live out what He helps you to see. Once you complete the book, start it over again.

Begin each day by reading a chapter of Colossians.
Begin each day by marveling over God’s work of salvation on your behalf. Identify two additional reasons to be thankful and give thanks to God.
Colossians 1:1–8 — 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, 2 To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father. 3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 since we heard of YOUR FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS and of the love that you have for all the saints, 5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in THE WORD OF THE TRUTH, THE GOSPEL, 6 which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you HEARD it and understood THE GRACE OF GOD IN TRUTH, 7 just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf 8 and has made known to us your love in the Spirit.

JESUS
Jesus lived a life without sin, died a sacrificial death for our sin, rose from the dead to reveal His true identify as God’s Son and to secure for us what we need, and then ascended to heaven, His rightful place, to assure us—He is more than able to deliver on His promise
Good news is centered in Jesus
The good news is intended to affect your standing with God and the quality of your life.
Colossians 1:13–14 — He (God) has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
God has delivered us from the domain of darkness
Domination/captivity of darkness—confusion/brokeness
Deliver—to draw or snatch from danger, rescue, deliver. This is more with the meaning of drawing to oneself than merely rescuing from someone or something.
God not only delivers us—but qualifies us . . . (v.12)
Colossians 1:12 — Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
Qualified—makes sufficient, enables
Share of inheritance—future is assured.
Qualified you as one of the saints in light.
(v.13) God has transferred us to the kingdom
of His beloved Son
The harsh rule of the prince of darkness has been replaced by the loving Lordship of the One who died on your behalf.
In Jesus we have redemption
Redemption—slave purchased/freed/redeemed
HAVE—present reality.
Underserved?
In Jesus we have the forgiveness of sins
Forgiveness— Aphesis is used for persons, usually as a legal term for the release of slaves or prisoners— to release/ move beyond the chains of guilt and shame. (Robert Smith)
God has qualified us, delivered us, transferred us, redeemed and forgiven us.
GRACE—the grace of God in truth
God’s activity/God’s provision
GOD’S WORK—underserved on your behalf
All of this received by faith as a gift—received Jesus
Too good to be true?

Colossians 1:12–14 — 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
