Scripture

Genesis 3:12–13 KJV
12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
I chose this passage because it convicts us to rightly divide the Word of God and to obey it as well.
We are so quick to shift blame away from ourselves instead of humbling ourselves and admitting our part in what happened.
King James Version Genesis 3:17

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, nof which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: ocursed is the ground for thy sake; pin sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life

We as Christians have a duty to know and obey God’s word. As men, we have an even greater duty to know and rightly divide the Word of God. We are responsible for the actions of ourselves but also for that of our homes. Adam failed to adhere to what he knew God said. He should have remembered and obeyed God’s Word and stopped Eve.
