In the midst of crisis, Jesus provides expectant HOPE and a life of POWER.
John 11:25–26 ESV
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

The Disappointment of Delay (1-16)

Jesus’ delay was for a greater purpose - to increase his disciples faith and to demonstrate the glory of God.
What do you do when God seems to delay His answer to our prayers?
Do you live in the world of “If only…?” (a life of regret)
Often, what we perceive as a crisis is actually the Lord working to grow our faith in Him.

The Declaration of Resurrection Life (17-27)

Jesus, as the Resurrection and the Life give us a confident expectation of the future.
Three declarations that moved Mary from hope in a future event to faith in HIMSELF!

“I am the resurrection and the life.”

Christ is the source of resurrection life. He is the source of all life!

“Whoever believes in me, though he die yet shall he live”

Hope, the expectation of God’s work in the future based on his promise.

“and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die (die eternally).”

Power to live in fearlessly in the present!

The Demonstration of Power (28-45)

When you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ it frees you from a life of regret. He is at work to bring glory to God. He is at work in your circumstances to bring glory to the Father.
Death is the last enemy.
1 Corinthians 15:25–26 ESV
25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
He is not indifferent to our struggles. He wept at the effects of death upon His creation.
Faith in Christ reveals the glory of God.
It is Christ that raises the dead spiritually! It is the power of Christ that gives us the confidence to live presently!
