Luke 11:1- “Lord, teach us to pray”
“This then is how you should pray”
Praise- Our Father Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy nameBegin by expressing love to GodAdoration- praise God for Who He is.Thanksgiving- praise God for what He has done.Psa 100:4- Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.Key- God answers the prayers that acknowledge Who He is.Purpose- Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.I commit myself to doing God’s willRomans 12:1- ...Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God- this is your true and proper worship.Key- Living a purpose driven life that includes Worship, ministry, fellowship, evangelism, and discipleshipProvision- Give us this day our daily bread...I ask God to provide for my daily needs- all of them!Phil 4:19- God will supply all my needs from His riches in glory Phil 4:6- Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer....let your requests be made known to God...Pardon- Forgive us our debts...I can ask God to forgive my sins byAsk the Holy Spirit to reveal every sinConfess each sin specificallyMake restitution to others when necessaryBy faith accept God’s forgiveness1John 1:9- If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousnessKey- FaithPeople- as we forgive our debtorsI pray for other people1Tim2:1- Pray much for others; plead for God’s mercy upon them; give thanks for all He is going to do for them.Key- Develop a list of people you pray for regularly.Protection- and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil oneI ask for spiritual protection1John 4:4- The Spirit Who is in you is more powerful than the spirit who is in those who belong to the world.Key- fear not
