Pray
Why do you thing people are so eager to know when the Lord is coming back?
Why does the Lord want us not to know when He is coming back?
Have you ever gotten caught up in someone’s predictions of when the Lord will return? If so, how did that affect the way you lived?
Read Matthew 24:45-51
Let’s compare these two servants.
What do you notice about the first servant?
How does the Master reward him?
What do we notice about the second servant?
What does the phrase “weeping and gnashing of teeth” mean?
Who does the “good servant” represent?
Who does the “evil servant” represent?
What is the evil servant’s error? How does it affect his actions?
Why is it important to know that God will reward us according to our faithful labor, not according to the results we produce?
What tends to be your attitude toward work? Do you see it more as a necessary evil or as something that enables you to do things God wants done in the world?
What is the point of this parable then?
The point is that we must not assume Christ will delay His coming, but be ready for Him to return at any time.
